Alright, so my old XBox has been sitting around for a long time cause its just a paper weight now. I decided to put the HD to some use as a storage device for my PC.
I've unlocked the HD, disabled the Security and reformated the HD with one partition.
Now, problem I'm having, when Windows XP begins to boot up (Where is says Windows XP and the green bar is below it loading) it always restarts my comp on the first pass of the green bar.
Now, when I boot up in Safe Mode with the HD in, I have full access to it, I can put files on it and remove things from it freely. I've also reformated the HD from Safe Mode several times and used SeaGates Disk Wizard thing through safe mode since XP won't boot up regularly with the HD plugged in.
Right now it has been formatted to be a secondary (slave) storage unit, my OS is Windows XP Service Pack II. Computer manufac. is Compaq 5716 Series.
Could anyone give me some ideas to try out? I've been thinking it might have something to do with a drive conflict but when I check in safe mode there are no problems between others. So right now I have a paper weight HD that works in my friends comp but not in mine properlu.
Thanks ahead of time for the help incase I don't check back regularly.

Hi Ven,
Sorry for a late reply.
All i could suggest is to try partioning again using your WINXP install disc.. That way hopefully it will fix itself up.. Ive never had any problems using a unlocked xbox hdd in pc's.
Matter a fact i have 3 little baby pcs (slow pcs) with 8gb xbox hdd's running in them.. They work just fine.
Anyway, good luck with it and sorry we couldnt be of more help.
