Is it possible to rip a dvd video directly to the xbox hard drive?I have tried using game copiers like dvd2xbox to rip the discs but that doesn't work as they need to be encoded into mpeg or avi or another format. I want to do this as ripping it onto my pc then ftping to my xbox is a pain and I would like top just be able to leave my xbox running overnight for the 8 or so hours it normally takes to rip the disc. Thanks. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

The only way i would think it would be possible it if someone made a homebrew encoder for the xbox or XBMC had its own encoder. But that is a while i think. I'm with you on the leaving the xbox overnight and letting it rip/encode the dvd instead of not being able to sleep from the damn heatsink. _________________ Xbox v1.2

I'm still a XBMC newbie, but I read a post where someone said something about lining up all the .vob files and using a "stack" feature or something?
Not sure what that does, but I too would love to find a way to just rip the DVD right to the HD. Right now, I am just ripping on PC and converting to DivX then FTP'ing to XBOX. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

That's what I do at the moment. I'll try stacking those files and see if it works. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

The thing with ftp movies on haddrives is that the bitrate over time gets degraded unfortunately which really sux. I had matrix reloaded for about six months and when i tried to play it would have been going at 2fps. Also with johhny english parts of it get really poor. this is with divx i expect the same thing will happen to the other codecs. Also ive got and 80gb seagate hdd. _________________ Xbox v1.2
