So, my cousin has an xBox that was modded, and I decided to borrow it from him so I can crack it open and see what mod chip was inside it...put it back together, take it back to his house...Hard drive was done with...uh ohhhh...
Problem: I bought a new hard drive (L01P200) Maxtor 200gig, he has an Xecutor 2.3B lite? yeah that's what it was...my thing is this, I keep noticing that you need to backup the orig files from the xbox...is there a way around this at all? or am I royally screwed? I got a buddies Xbox with me too if that could help...PLEASE tell me something good. Thanks in advance.

well the files are lost i guess, but you`ll need to burn a boot disk to get the new hdd working,
I hope your buddy doesn`t play on xbox live.
If you`ve got nero and a blank dvd-r you should get it going again in no time.
I'm almost positive he doesn't care about Live...you mean that AID will do everything I need it to? Can I just burn it onto a CDR?

yes you can burn AID to a cd-r, but your Xbox may not like cd-r's and you may have to experiment with different media's and formats till you find one that works with your Xbox
