Controlling the XBMC with a gamepad (especially with a wired one) can really be a drag (imo), so I was wondering if those DVD Remote Controls for XBOX e.g.:

Hot damn! Saved me a lot of searching and trial and error...was gonna ask this myself.
OMG... just looked up prices for preowned remotes.....same as new one. Well one advantage to preowned here, I guess. You dont have to fight that indestructible plastic packaging they use on everything these days... Last Christmas I spent 3 hours in the emergency room waiting to get 5 stitches, where I'd stabbed myself in the leg when my knife slipped while trying to open one of those armored plastic packages. _________________ Xbox - 1.4 Halo SE

personally i found once i had xbmc installed....pretty much every remote control in my house works for it.....

On craigslist this lady was giving away old xbox stuff including the IR port for a remote (but no remote). So i had a cheap universal remote laying around and it works with the Xbox perfectly. Kind of clunky, but less clutter on my tv tray now.

eh sorry to sound noobish but do you just plug and play? I plugged in my xbox dvd IR thingy and the remote doesnt respond to any button presses...Do i have to set it up first?
