Hello everybody,
I think that my xbox hard disk is dead or is not working correctly...
I explain.. when I play, the hard disk is doing some weird sounds and the xbox blocks...
So I think the hard disk is dead....
With what kind of hard drive can I change it ?
O What I have to do ??

Give us a little more info maybee, is it modded? If yes then..
does it have any type of chip and if so what?.
the more info we have about your xbox the better.
this is why most of us carry sigs under our posts.
(although i do it just to gloat)

I have got a normal xbox with chip but it gone to be more than 2 years... so I dont remember the name of the chip...
with this chip I can only play with burn games , no divx nothing else

You can try getting a new hdd. Since you have a chip you should be able to
throw it in and run AID on it, AID is an auto installer disk made by DJB here at xbox-hq,
I`ve never checked it but I wouldn`t mind betting my enviroment edit of UnleashX will also have the magic property of getting a blank hdd off the ground, And that is just a multi game disk app.
Anyway the good news is you have a chip.
BTW, while you have the xbox open to remove the old hdd, check that you don`t have a v1.0 xbox (it has an fan on the gpu as well as the cpu, no other model does) Sometimes the GPU fans become damaged and detatched from the main spindle, This can cause a horrible noise right from the boot.
i`ve yet to see the fan on the cpu do this though.
