I have an XBOX that has been on live before with a stock hdd, I have a chip in it and want to install a bigger hdd....
Can I use the info from the stock hdd and "clone" it to the new big hdd and not get banned from live??
I have read too much about flashing and have overloaded me brain...but one thing at a time... _________________ V1.0 w/ DuoX2 stock HDD

I think xbl check for harddrive size when you log on, so no. You can't use the larger harddrive on Live. You could have a setup where you have an external hardrive, and just switch it when you want to play live. I'm not sure what flashing has to do with your new harddrive, your chip should be flashed already. Did you flash your xbox tsop?

The way I understand it is M$ checks the hdd and eeprom to see if the numbers have changed, that is how they bust you, because the new hdd does not have the same info the stock hdd has....
That is my understanding at least....anyone??? _________________ V1.0 w/ DuoX2 stock HDD

Yes they check your eeprom with your hdd key, too. I also heard they check partition size. (and some known soft mod saves and files). I've never pushed to find out... You can try, I believe there are programs to change your hdd key, maybe someone else knows of one. ConfigMagic will change your eeprom to your NEW drive lock key. (you may or may not need a new account)
