12 Wires come from the PCB and are connected to the main board. To activate the chip, I press the power button for about 2 seconds and the power light changes to Orange, (well i think it's orange, I'm colour blind!!!)
If anyone can identify the chip by that information I would like some more info, like will I be able to run EvoX????
My main concern is that I want to run the PAL box on my PLASMA, and take advantage of prog scan with the Hi Def Pack.

If its already got a modchip and its working then you are laughing.
All modchips are really the same mate.. All we want is a HACKED BIOS which your modchip has i would say..!
If you can play backup games then you will be able to load any other apps, emu, dhasboards etc onto your xbox without problems.
You wont need to reflash the bios unless you want to upgrade the HDD to larger then a 120gb hard drive.. If you get a 160+ HDD for your xbox you will have to flash your bios through EVOX DASHBOARD and get it to accept the larger 160+hDD.
Hope this is easy to understand..
one last thing:
Xbox-Hq Auto Installer will format and partiton any new upgrade HDD and will copy all the required files over to it in a cllck of your xbox joypad..
Just burn the autoinstaller to dvd-r/cdrw and boot it. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Sounds to me like an Aladdin Advance 32.
You need to make sure all four wires are soldered!.
If they are then you should have no problems running Evo-X with a bigger HDD and play Xbox Live too.
You canot play Xbox Live with copies!
To turn your chip on hold in the power button for more than 1 second. The power light on the Xbox should now be orange or red (depending on Bios)To turn the Xbox on with the chip off: Press power button just a touch and make sure the Xbox light is green.
Others should learn from your mistake!
1. eBay sucks!
2. if you're going to fork out extra cash for a chipped box make sure it is set up b4 you receive it.

I've downloaded SLAYERS auto install version of EVOX, I've burned it to CDRW & DVD+RW, with nero as per SLAYER PDF, neither of them boot!!!!!!!!!!!
I press and hold the power button, like when I booting a 'backup' but I just get the following error:
Your XBox can't recognize this disc. Make sure it's an XBox game, DVD movie, or audio CD, blah blah blah...........
HELP!!!!!!

Are you burning to the same type of media that your xbox can already boot.. There is a list of comptible media for each xbox dvd drive type in our tutorials section here:

I have a Thomson drive, the XBox will boot backed up DVD-R no problem.
I have burned EvoX onto a Plextor CD-RW 4 - 10X, and a TDK DVD+RW 1 - 4X.

ok marshall,
try downloading the xbox-hq autoinstaller. Its in the VIP Downloads area if you down already have it.. Its much more up-to-date with the latest apps etc..
What i would do is this:
1. Download the Latest Version of Nero that you can get
try http://www.nero.com
2. When you unrar (extract) the .iso file from the downloaded file you can then burn it with nero. (You must burn a 1 x .iso image onto the cdrw/dvd-r not a bunch of files)
3. If it still doesnt work try and get your hands on CDRWIN 5.0.. It supports all burners im sure.. Burn a copy with that also..
IF YOUR XBOX IS BOOTING DVD-R BACKUPS FINE AND PLAYING GAMES THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS BOOTING THE AUTO-INSTALLERS!!! The xbox is fine it must be pc config!
