Can you ftp with flashfxp? What are your network settings? You have to give us more information.

Hi!

The only thing you will need to FTP to your computer is the backup of the eeprom.bin, which is highly required in some screw up situations. An alternative for transferin files to the Xbox is getting a rewritable DVD cd (DVD-RW} and butning the files to it using nero. Any file, any movie, any song you upload can be reviewed by Xbox Media Center. To install Xbox media center, use the most recent AID version burnt on a DVD-R or just FTP the installer for XBMC to you Xbox.

I've tried many ways to FTP, and FTP can be really whack some times, as for me, failiure to FTP almost led me to a frustration caused meental disorder. I was so freaked and mad, I almost pissed on my Xbox.

Good luck Mr. Reese, I hope it works out

Well Mr. Reese which reminds me of my science teachet who has an Xbox and is a newbie,

All i can tell you is try goi... do you have UnleashX or EvolutionX? Try using the File Explorer, or any tool you posses to search thru the Xbox HD, and look in all the sectors. Also, I think that would be in C: or F: lookl for the BackUps folder, and see I you can find eeprom.bin or something there. In 6 words, Just look around in the HD.

Good luck,

exyBoxy

And no, it doesnt have to do with HD upgrades, but make sure you have it before you do... actually yes it does, unless you have it, you cant do andy HD upgrades, you see, the EEPROM marries the Motherboard to the HD, so that you cant just put another HD in and mod again if you get screwed. So yes, you need the eeprom to do that. You can IM me if you need any help, I might be able to help you out with the HD upgrade preparations. I think you are suposed to use XboxHD 1.9 for that, am I right pros? Make sure you backup the eeprom in any case, you cant do anything without, if you do not understand what im talking about why should you do it, search on ebay for motherboards, you'll see they all come with HD's, othrwise it will be useless, unless ofcorse you have a modchip installed.

and for SID 4 and 4.5 the real eeprom is located in E:\UDATA\21585554\000000000000\ as there is no f back up ever especially for a retail harddrive.

ok mate i've just changed my HDD for a new Maxtor 80Gig and it simple.....

ok if you have aid 3 disk install config magic as an app then use it to make a backup of your eeprom it will put it in your E drive there will be 3 files there(a bin file a text file and a cofig file) ftp them with your C and E drives to PC....

when thay are there you will need to rename them From EEPROMbackup.bin to just EEPROM.bin ect. then it's best to put them on a floppy disk for when you set up your new HDD. make your disk with xboxhdm v1.9 and follow the Tut for the rest and you should be fine...

i did have to re mod mine when i finnished mabe cos i'm useing sid4.5 and it uses a virtual C drive....?

hope this helps a bit

What robbieboy and hellblazer said, that will be very helpfull if you upgrade the HD. However, If you are only going to add on another HD you will need an extended IDE cable, and this

http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-xb-xtender Which is very cool, and may make u a lot of money on eBay, If you sell your Xbox with an upgraded HD, and instaled full linux, you know, the version which takes up the tab for Xbox Live in the ms dash, you can say its an Xbox Game Development System and sell it for 700$.

Good luck, thats all I can help you out with
