Please can anybody tell me if the version of XBMC included in this pack (06-06-2006) requires the shortcut xbe to boot as a dash?
Or to put it another way if I was to:
1) Softmod my xbox using SID 4.5 and install unleashX dash
2) Boot AID 3.03 and install hacked dashboard XBMC (06-06-2006)
Would it work?
Many thanks,
John.

Cheers!
When you did the original softmod so you could boot the AID 3.03 disk, did you install a dashboard?
Also which boot option did you choose?
Sorry for all the questions but this numpty needs a step by step!

yes with UnleashX then i just put in the AID3.03 disk and used the one click install (cos you sould all ready have a backup of your msdash and eeprom in E drive, you don't need to do it again)and it worked great mate....
Just single boot.....
p.s. With Sid 4.5 it will only formate you C drive so you will NOT loose your game saves or backup's... _________________

Thanks again,
So just to be doubly sure
Boot AID 3.03
Goto softmod section
Choose 'Install SID NKpatcher System'
Will it be obvious from the onscreen prompts what to do next as this is where it gets a little difficult to understand the procedure!
It says in the manual that theres only a choice of unleashx or evox and theres no mention of a 'one click install'
Also confused about whether I should install softmod XBMC or hacked XBMC when using NKpatcher 4.5 cos It says in the manual:
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using the SID 4 system, install a normal dashboard to E Drive, not a softmod one. Due to the way SID 4 is set up it won’t work any other way.
I understand what is meant by normal dash as opposed to softmod one but does this also mean that the dash must be installed on E partition only ?
Arrrgh my head is going to pop! Wish I had the brains to figure this out
Basically just want single boot XBMC install, but really worried I'm gonna kill it

no just boot AID3.03 then click on "one click install".......then Softmod users(4.5)..... then Setup with XBMC dash.......then shes off...
AID 3.03 dose have SID 4.5 with XBMC dash......
""""I understand what is meant by normal dash as opposed to softmod one but does this also mean that the dash must be installed on E partition only ?""""
it will put the msdash on C drive and your XBMC dash and apps in E drive mate..
so as long as you have A backup of msdash and eeprom in E drive your ok ........
don't worry the one click install will do it all for you just sit back and enjoy....
oh one more thing when it's done it will say it need to shutdown press ok then reboot with the eject button...then it will say it needs to finnish the install press ok ........... when it finnished it will restart with your new dash _________________

You are a bloody star mate, many many thanks!
I followed your instructions and now have XBMC dash
The reason I was struggling was the fact that the manual doesn't mention this one click install. But when I fired up the AID 3.03 disk it was very easy to follow.
The only thing where I could have gone wrong was when I clicked on one click install, XBMC dash and it warned me that if I was using SID 4 that I should go back and remove virtual C drive before proceeding - So I did as instructed then did the one click install and it all went perfectly
Really appreciate you persevering with my stupid questions man! You gave me the confidence to attempt the job, thanks again!
Oh and big thanks to the SID/AID team for making such a fantastic piece of software

I suppose that's paritlaly my fault, hehe.
I never got around to writing a manual for the 3.02 / 3.03 update, so the one-click install didn't really get documented.
Basically, the one-click install will format c drive, install ms dash (and softmod if using the softmod one-click install methods), the dashboard of your choice, and selective apps (like xbmc etc). If you selected XBMC as your dash, it won't be installed as an app.
