okay, i have some quick general softmodding questions...
1. is sid 4.0 really buggy? (i heard that is was)
2. what is sid 4.0 nknave edition?
3. will softmodding an xbox that is version 1.6 or 1.6b work?
4. is softmodding safe with a stock hdd?
5. will i have to flash the bios? if so, how?
6. will i have to hotswap anything?
7. what is the best versions of sid and aid?
8. what exactly does each do?

Wow dude wow.....ok
1. not that I know but you can get sid 4.5 here so why not just get it (it will be easyer for you)
2. I don't know I think thats just the guy that made it
3. Yes
4. Yes
5. nope thats the softmod itself if you get a chip (which I think you should do) then you will need to flash that (but chiper will do it for you too if you ask)
6. If you mess up the softmod and don't want a chip yes but I will never ever try it
7. I think its sid 4.5 and the new AID 3.2 both are here on the web site for you to DL look at the top of the web page for downloads
8. It mods your xbox to read other discs then games and give you acct to your HDD and other stuff I don't even know yet _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

thanks man, that clears up alot.
a couple more things tho..
will sid 4.5 work with the slpinter cell/ mechassualt/ 007 agent under fire exploits? I've hear alot of weird things...
also..im a lil confused about aid, will it work with the exploits, or do i have to burn it to a disc? (again, alot of different things have been said)

Ok all softmod will work with the org games above...not the palt. ones (sliver banner on top), Well the best bet is to burn it on a DVD-R at a slow speed and safe it. im gonna try to get a friend or something to burn aid for me. it sounds pretty good.
but for now, i gotta just settle for sid when i get a chance to go to m freind's house and softmod this mamma jamma.
what's the best dash to go with when you're a noob, you have a stock hdd, but you'll prolly upgrade later?

I love unleash as a dash....I found it pretty easy to setup. The 1st one I had was evoX and that is easy to work with too. Its crazy looking at it the first time but hey if you can FTP your are set. That toke me 2 week to get and now I can do it in 5 seconds. As for the HDD....I did have a stock one in for a month but ended up getting a great deal on a 200GB one and then the company I got it from messed up and they sent me a 300gb for the mess they caused.......Now that is a pain for a softmod box...where I had a chip and it toke 30 mins max _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

my ethernet connect is fried or something (that's how i got my xbox free!) so ftp is pretty much outta the question....so i was wondering if action replay can do all the file transfering that i'll need setting up, getting started, in the future.
when i upgrade my hdd, im prolly gonna get a chip in it and totally restore it and everything, but not having a job sucks...nooooooooooo!

Wow I couldn't live with out FTPing.....Its the best way to fix and find files with easy....I would get a new mobo and ave them chip it and that way you can install your HDD easy too _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

im not really worried about the hdd right now, just wanna get it softmodded first to get my feet wet in the world of modding

i found sid 4.0 nknave ed. but it's from megaupload.com or something...is there a good chance it could have a virus or something??
i can't get bitTorrent on this computer...which means im pretty much slap outta luck...

Alright mobo is motherboard if your Xbox internet connect it gone then you can't FTP, nor can you go on live. Now there is a long way but hell I can't even do it...nor will I even try again.
