I have Googled this to death, only to come up empty handed. Does anybody know how to add/remove/change any of the emulators icons?

Surreal64 and SNES come with icons for example, but Atari2600 and FCE do not- It just says the emulator name, and the icon area is empty.

Please let me know! I can't believe I am spending two days on just this icon thing. I think I need time management classes... =/

Thanks

I doubt it would be too hard but it will depend on which dashboard you are using too..

I believe with Xbox Media Center the thumbnails or icons are stored in the XBMC directory so that could help you..

Also, i think the icons are automatically compiled from gamesaves too sometimes.. I havent looked alot into it but i dont see why you would have any issues.

anyone else got some input??

l8r guys

Thanks hobby!

I am using Avalaunch (hence the reason for me putting it in this forum). I don't use Xbox media center or anything...

Also, why would a gamesave pic have anything to do with the emulator menu? I would think that the icons are somewhere in each emulators program files.... Don't you?

I hope that they aren't built in to the xbe. I doubt it though, because why would some have icons and others not?

This stinks bad! I hope somebody has an answer.

hobby- what dashboard do you use? Do all your emulators (in the emulator menu) show icons? (Like N64's 3D 'N') Just curious... I guess I could just start installing dashboards, and see if they all show the same icons for each emulator. I guess that will tell me if it has to do with the dasboard, or the emu's themselves, huh?

Ok, I just found some more info (I think).

The following is from a file I found on the internet called "avalaunch.xml", and it claimed to have instructions on how to customize Avalaunch.

___________________________________________________________

<!--
Specify how the launcher should display icons

display;
0 = don't display icons
1 = display icons

If omitted the icons will be displayed

rotate;
0 = don't rotate icons (fixed)
1 = rotate icons

If omitted the icons will rotate

override (uses avalaunch_icon.png/avalaunch_icon.jpg/<name>.png/<name>.jpg in that order);
0 = don't override icons
1 = override if no icon is embedded in the xbe
2 = always override

If omitted the icons will be overriden if no icons is embedded in the xbe
-->
<icons display="1" rotate="1" override="1"/>
<!--

Doesn't that seem like my answer? I thought it did! Unfortunately, it doesn't work. =(

I don't think that I am storing the picture files in the right place. Can anybody interpret this, and tell me which folder my new icons are supposed to go?

I just found some MORE info on my own. No thanks to you people! =)

I have loaded several different dashboards, and it has become apparent to me that each emulator (or app, or anything for that matter) can have its own logo built right in to the XBE. Most things have one, some don't for some reason.

So now- I have to find out how to edit XBE's, and then add icons to them, or have to find some way to get ANY dashboard to read a .png or .jpb that is sitting right next to the XBE in question.

All this for aesthetics. So sad. =)

HELP ME!!!!!!!
