if u xbox has a philppe drive it can read dvd+r since i have a phil drive and it reads dvd+r _________________ I came i saw i modded.

Yup I'll second that, as I have used +R's in Phillips DVD Drives before myself.

From memory I think I had problems with Thomson and CD-RW, DVD-R worked fine for me in this case.

Even though some people don't like them, I think the Phillips DVD Drive is the best. Plays CD-RWs, DVD-R, DVD+R (not sure about the Dual Layer discs though).

so do you think it's better than the Samsung cos it's alot cheaper than the Samsung one $49.99 (Samsung $79.99) _________________

Since I've only ever owned a Phillips I would suggest that. I have used Samsungs and Thomsons in the past when I've modded boxes, but I love my Phillips.
