After spending an age working out how to FTP my box only to find all i needed to do was plug in the vid lead. Im now faced with another prob to which i can find no answer.
After extracting the rar files to end up with an ISO file and transferin with flashfxp. Why wont it play??????????????
Tried sending then over while still rar'd and nothing either..........

Thanks for the reply but gotta admit to still being lost
If thats the case then whats the point of using FTP at all. I'd still be doing what I'd always done and then using software to copy to HDD

If you copy the .iso file over, the xbox won't read it. It's not designed that way. And by extracting the .rar files, I know you mean copying the disc that you already own, right?
Good.
*Disclaimer* We here at the xbox-hq do NOT support piracy in any way shape or form. This includes downloading MP3's/Movies/Games/and unauthorized pawn (ya know, the punishment for pirating pawn is HARSH!). We at the Xbox-Hq only support backing up of original games that you already own. Not one that you've borrowed from a friend, not one that you rented, and ESPECIALLY NOT ONE YOU DOWNLOADED. We don't want to hear about it, see it, or hear about it. (Yes, I repeated myself, I know).
If you or any other party are caught discussing/talking about/sharing/talking about piracy on our site, you will be throughly kicked in the behind and banned from the site... Well that last part might not be true, but We will find someone to boot you in the behind. Trust me, we have some good booters here . That being said, JUST DON'T DO IT! *End of Disclaimer*
What you need to do is download Qwix. Just google "Qwix Download" and click the first thing you see. Run that fun little progie on your puter, point the thing to your Iso file, then to your Xbox, click upload, and you're good to go. It will extract the ISO on the fly and dump it nice and neat into your Xbox HDD.
For more info on how to use Qwix, please consult the manual on the aforementioned site. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
I can see why you'd come to that conclusion from my previous statement. So let me put your mind at rest as far as piracy goes. I would like to transfer some of the kids DVD's to the console but even that is more out of interest than anything else. Trust me when you've played a PS2 as long as i did, the 1st time that XBMC flashes up is a very welcome change.

Oh yes, XBMC is wonderful.. Can't wait for the MCE360 Skin. Your xbox will look like a fully functional 360... well, on screen, anway. And as far as the piracy thing goes, I've gotta keep that up for the whole admin badge.i strongly support the no piracy rule, and also have to keep this site safe if it's even hinted on. That disclaimer was a generalized warning I've used 4 times already today . _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Yeah I'm just enjoyin findin my way round it 2 be honest. Although sometimes i wish I'd never found out that a dashboard could mean so much more than the plastic part of a car.
No offence taken on the piracy thing as I'm sure anyone who mentions iso's tries not to look guilty and I'm in your corner on that 1. Way i see it unless the money from sales goes back into the pot the more chance there is of such gaming classics such as. Aquaman Battle For Atlantis being pushed our way...If u aint played it .... Just dont. It would have gone down better as food.

Anyway now that we've sorted the do's & donts any chance of someone pointing out where I'm going wrong...
I know half the prob is me using the wrong dash. My PC and TV are in different rooms & there;s no way that can change, but what I'm finding is when I change the settings in evoX dash so I've got the right I.P address etc, when i come to delete the default & ini files so that AVA dash will boot up 1st. The IP address has changed to default 1.
Hope that made sense. Not even sure if it does to me

evox is very buggy when it comes to ftping.. try using unleash x as a dashboard replacement... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

As long as your box pulls some kind of an IP address (which AVA will tell you, and so will EvoX) you should be able to FTP into it because it's on your lan. I remember once when I first booted up AID (Static version) it pulls the IP 192.168.0.2 . that just doesn't slide on my network... Well, normally it doesn't, but it worked, FlashFXP found it and went haywire transferrin stuff.
But if you can get AVA to boot, you're gold, just go to network settings and set it DHCP or Static, however you want and go to town. Don't worry about EvoX anymore, with XBMC now having integrated Xored trainer support, EvoX is DEAD. Allthough, it could make a whole new sales angle.......
Anyway, once you get your network settings squared away, your modding experience will be much much easier.
Also, if you don't already, grab AID (www.aideluxe.com). Once your box is modded, it's an INVALUABLE tool. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
