Hello i have Xbox version 1.0 and MS Dash D:1.00.4034.01, I am kind of a newbie since i have never modded an XBOX, but i have PC Repair skills that why hotswapping is easy 4 me, I was wondering if it is possible to copy a new dashbaord to my xbox without downloading these big rar file(i on dial-up connection slow), i don't have a memory card, i have 1 game NFS2 Hot Pursuit which is not live enabled and i don't have any money to spend right now to buy a live-enabled game, memory card etc. all i have is Xplorer360 which is use to gain access to my Xbox HD to backup onto my PC.
i want to upgrade to the latest MS DASH 5960 by Hotswapping which partition would i place the files in order to update.
i have EvolutionX Build 3935 DASH to install this where would i place it .
I read somewhere that it is possible to softmod without using the Installer packages how is this done, not that i have anything against these packages i just want to try it out.
looking to softmod the cheapest way

Hi certsweet and welcome to HQ..
Seriously you would be best to download one of these SoftmoD auto installers (SID).. It is much smaller then the main AUTO INSTALLER.. (AID)
- 1 Original Game to install mod (must be first release)
eg. 007 James Bond, MechAssault, Splinter Cell
- A Action Replay to transfer info to the memory card OR create your own USB convertor to connect a normal USB memory stick and use it..
- SoftMod Auto installer Deluxe (http://www.aideluxe.com)
anyway, that should get you started.. Personally a modchip is the easiest method especially with the non solder mods now available but thats up to you.

YES u can mod using hotswap method there is a tutorial by kingroach out on the net that tells u how i dont remember the website but just google it If u dont find it pm me or reply and i will find it for you _________________ Xbox V. 1.6

honestly certsweet i'v seen ppl that were in the same step with no cash but wanting to mod ... the end result is most needed to buy a modchip due to not doing the mod right....
i defitanly recommend just buyin the ar kit $30 and 1 of the 3 games FH mentioned .... they are $5-15 bucks... i personlay love 007 auf .. agent under fire... for starters its a good mutiplayer , and it only has 1 option to load so it wont be confusing and plus on a rainy day if you dont have the exploits on your xbox you can just read off the mem card which this is only exclusive with 007...
and dude trust me it pays off so just put it like this say you buy your new game and it cost 50 you can back it up and keep the original from gettting damage.... keep in mind we dont support piracy nor we talk about it anywhere in this site _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
