Hi,
I recently sold a chipped Xbox (chip had nothing printed on it so don't know what it was) to someone which was running EvoX loaded with the ususal applications but they have disappeared after playing a genuine Xbox disc in it. The Evox dash is still there but the games and applications options have gone from the menu. Now he only gets options for MS dash,reboot,backup,settings and power off.
Anyone got any idea what has happened? Can he get them back without using an install disc or conecting to a pc?

Don't tell me I've come up with a question you experts can't answer! I'm gonna send the guy AID3 on disc to try and fix things but I still want to know what has happened. No one had anything like this happen before?

I've sent the guy AID and apparantly it won't load yet the chip appears to be functioning as he is getting a big blue X when booting with the start button.
He's young and upset and his mum is getting annoyed and I don't know what to do.
Can anyone even suggest what might have happened? It was all fine and dandy until he got his hands on it! Does this sound like a chip problem or something in the settings? I can answer any questions if it would help one of you experts to diagnose the problem.
Please HELP!!!

ok dude no worries, im sure your thread just sliped out .
thus this is why i hate evox .... try installing unleash x insted and problem solved.
you wont loose any stuff except the current evox skins

Thanks Gus, I knew you'd come along to help at some point!
Actually I sent the guy AID 2.6 as it was all I could get at short notice as I was in a rush but he's claiming it won't load. The disc is fine as I formatted my c drive and re-installed MS and EvoX on one of my own boxes before posting it to him just to make sure.
Am I correct in thinking that if he is getting a big blue X (insted of a green one) on boot up then that shows the chip is working ok? If so that means there should be no problem getting AID to load either right?

hmm a chipped xbox that hangs on the blue X that is custmied yet it wont read aid ...... did you try aid on your personal box your self?
either the disc was made wrong or the flashing is wrong on the bios....
but it doesnt make sense since the dashboard loads up right? so then its the aid maybe....
is this guy close to you? you might need to brin the box with you so we can try numorous things and fix it asap... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

All sorted! The guy got AID to load and I took him through it step by step. I suspect he was using the eject button and therefore disabling the chip or something like that.
He now has UnleashX and all his games and applications back. Thanks Gus.
Anyone now why it happened? It was after playing a genuine copy of Forza and a search of other forums suggests it's not that uncommon!

that nobody knows .... their was a case where this guy played this genuine xbox game and it ended up error 21 and he had sid 4. ... yeah how werid is that.
and end result same both you and him was using evox..... so who knows but im glad my ideal of switching dashboards fixed it . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
