Is this the kind of Thompson drive that I can buy to make my Xbox read DVD+R discs? My 1.1 has an older Samsung drive I think but it won't read my +R discs.

If it is the right drive, is this best way to purchase them? Is it even worth it?

Couldn't I put a standard DVD drive in my Xbox? I know I wouldn't be able to read games off of it, but I could use the current drive and copy the games with dvd2xbox and then swap the drive, right?

my samsung drive reads everything I put in it. but I always buy maxell or memorex dvds they seem to work best
