Softmod. Just need an Action Replay, One of the exploitable games and the file. Thats it. For more informatin, look into
Softmod Installer Deluxe (SID3) 3 for non-xbox live play
or
Softmod Installer Deluxe (Sid4 Knave Edition) For xbox live play.
Which means you can only play xbox live in a retail state, no mods or you will be banned.
Sid4 sets teh mod to "retail" for a the duration of online play. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Softmods don't flash bioses, only chips do.
Softmods use software exploits in order to be able to do things that the installed TSOP would not allow. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Will using AID solve the problem? Can't you flash the BIOS using AID?

Yes you can flash a bios using AID, if you have a chip.
You can not flash a bios on a softmod, it won't work. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I'm not picking that up at all.
If it's the upgrade to the 5960, Halo 2 does that on its own.
But you can't flash the TSOP to say a 4983. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I have the same FRAG xbox I have had for a couple of weeks now. We have gotten it to power up twice, so we have installed the Evolution X softmod. We are still having problems with it FRAGing. From all I can understand from the forums, it is a TSOP problem. The TSOP tutorial calls for installing a switch. Is there anyway to TSOP without installing a switch or modchip?

-you cant tsop an xbox that is fragging ,
(you would have to prapare for tsop flash then chip the xbox , boot the xbox , pull out the chip while the xbox is booted then proceed with flashing the tsop , its a little more complicated , this is just a quick rundown
-yes, you can flash tsop with aid if its not a windbond tsop ,
for a windbond tsop youll need to use a app called raincoat or xflash
-no, you dont need to inatall a switch to flash the tsop , the switch is for dividing the 1mb tsop into 4 256k banks , but you do need to solder 2 tsop points on the motherboard ,
yes . you can flash any bios onto a tsop thats not chip specific and is of a right size , so basically the only bios that you cant flash onto a tsop would be the X3 bios , ...well you could still do it on the 1mb tsop it just woulnt work
the easiest way to flash tsop is to use eurasia pack or something simular ,
- anything else? _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

Whathe is trying to say is that if he lets the Xbox sit (unplugged) for about a week it will boot ONCE (only one time). Then in order for it to boot again, it needs to sit for another week. He thinks that this is due to a bad TSOP. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
