Hello all, yesterday I got banned from xbox live. This was due to my stupidity of believing that I could just upgrade a hd and be ok.
Here's my story: I bought a xbox, signed for xbox live, after some time I opened it up and installed an X3 modchip and bought an 250 Gig Hd to play mods with. So, consecuently, I had to switch hd whenever I wanted to play live. I always used my original hd for live, but a while back my original hd started to act super f***ing slow.
I was getting rather tired of not being able to play halo 2 cuz it was just freezing on me and crap like that. So i decided to play with my modded hd but with my x3 off. Played for a couple days, on the 3rd I was banned and got the Modified Error which many of you may have already experienced.
My question for you guys is this: What exactly did xbox live banned, was it the serial number and the hd? And which of the hds did they ban, did they ban the original hd or the new one that got me banned.
Would I be able to get a new eeprom and play with my original or do I have to get a new eeprom and hd altogether?

I've heard that Xbox Live will ban your IP. Do they just ban your eeprom?

doesnt ban ips... it bans ur eeprom and ur hd serials ..... so to fix this .. get eeprom NEW hd yes anoter 1 and reflash ur eeprom ....

You may find some eeproms on xbox-scene.com too.. I know several people who found them there.. I myself have never had the need.. I never had xbox live until now with my 360.
