My xbox got banned from xbox live when I left it at my friends house for like 2 months. He put in Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow and turned on the mod chip and went online even though he has an xbox.. He put one account on the opposing team so he could tell where the ppl were coming from.. Anyways, I was wondering if you only need a virgin eeprom to get unbanned or both a virgin eeprom and new hard drive. Some people tell me only the eeprom some say both.. . Thanks.

wtf I emailed this guy I know that installs mod chips and he said i need a new harddrive and eeprom.

I also say you need an eeprom and a new hard drive because you're hard drive is already registered as a banned one. That means that when you only reflash the eeprom then you'll get that banned also because you matched it up with a banned hard drive. I'm pretty sure of this because i recently replaced both and there was no ban. If I were you, I would take it the safe way and just go ahead and replace both. Or you could just try to do an eeprom by itself. They're only 10 bucks but if you're wrong then you would've wasted one. This is just what i've read almost everywhere. THE MARRIAGE THEORY.

kk thanks for your help. I 'll just get both the eeprom and hard drive. Do you know any places where I can get a eeprom because the guy that I asked to fix my xbox is charging $40 for the eeprom and installation.

I have an unbanned set of matching eeproms and a matching hard drive i can sell to you. I live in the Atlanta area. They have been on live before but they are married so you won't get banned. I will also show you how to put it in yourself. You can tell the guy who wants to charge you 30 bucks to do it to f#ck off because he's trying to cheat you. Its so simple and you can do it by software. Don't let him cheat you out of your money because just message me up on aim or something and i will help you. If you wanna learn about it, here's a link to a forum i've written tutorials for. Just look for replacing hd and reflashing eeprom. Here's the link...
