Okay, heres the jist of it. i had my xbox softmodded and then i was messing around in I-tools and i choose install UDE or USD i dunno, but what it did was f*$k up my xbox. at first it just acted like it was not modded anymore plus i had no dashboard. all i got was the need repairs sign, with a 13 in the corner. with my xbox like this it did play licensed xbox games but would not play modded games. i asked around the web for a solution. i heard a couple, but i just decided to open my xbox to see if anything was fried. Everything looked fine, so i put the xbox back together and when i started it the repair screen came up with a 16 in the corner. now the xbox wont even play licensed xbox games. So now my xbox does not play anygames period and i do not have any kind of dashboard. I was just wondering if anyone on this site could give me advice on a way to fix it, if that's even possible.--------------PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME I AM IN DIRE STRAIGHTS

Have you downloaded AID 3.0 yet?
If not...do so. (you will want/need it.)
If so, put the disk in and see what happens.

Good question.
Your error 13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
Your error 16 - dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)
Either way, you killed the dash by using some tool and doing something, that's all we know for sure. Not a good deal on a softmodded box.
Now when it read retail disks, you had a good chance to resoftmod and recover, since it won't even read those, you indeed appear to need a hotswap. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

do you think that there is any way to possible download ms files from purrip and put them on my xbox to fix it. by connecting my xbox hard drive to the computer.

You're pretty close since basically you are hotswapping.
Further research would indicate that what happened was the use of UDE softmod in I-tool but the softmod failed since the xbox was already softmodded, most likely by another method but not necessarily. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

well you think that would work, because i looked at the tutorial on hotswiping and it involves a lot of crap i do not know anything about and also my computer at home does not have internet access and it does not have a burnable cd drive. More or less my computer at home is a P.O.S. i am actually at college right now looking for possible downloads to put on a flash drive and take home and load onto my computer. Call it pathetic, but i love my xbox. do you know any way of fixing with out all the high techness.lol

o i got another question for ya..... is it possible to copy some files out of a working xbox hard drive and save them on to mine? The messed up xbox is V1.6, but the good xbox is older V1.4 or V1.5

guys basicly he is where i was in the 1st place... i encouterd the same softmod.... but i was able to fix it...
umm you only got hotswap as a chance.. since u can no longer boot retail games... god help if u can put 1 of the 3 expoitlable games and power off xbox with game inside and power on with game inside.. this is called coldboot ... if this works then u might be able to save your box....

well i didnt rip any music on this xbox if thats what you are talking about, all that happened is when i went to the UDE install file the screen turned green. and me being the dumba$$ i let it stay on this screen for a while, then i turned of the xbox and turned it on. that is were the hell started. I looked around and figured out that my xbox now says 16 because i unplugged it, so now the xbox is searching for the clock, but it cant find it. if i could find a way to bypass the clock thing, it could be fixable.

OK i will tell you everything that i did and everything that happened. first of all i was playing surreal V1.0 you know the nintendo 64 emulator. anyways i ordered two other disks, complex tools and hdd loader V1. something. anyways, the only disk that worked was the surreal, because the hdd loader did not work with my softmod and the complex tools just kept freezing. So i was on my evolutionx dashboard and i went to apps and choose i-tools.----i-tools does do a matrix effect as it loads, if that is what you were talking about.---- when i went to i tools i saw the UDE or whatever install, i choose this, mainly because i wanted the other two discs to work, so i thought installing it again would fix the problem. Well it asked me to keep the same files or make new ones. i choose to keep the same files, and then it went to the green flashing screen. I let it go on this screen for sum dumb reason and then turned it off. when i turned the box back on none of the dashboards loaded up, it just went to the error code 13 screen. I looked on the internet and e-mailed a few people to try to see what had happened. you guys were right, if i would have re-softmodded, my xbox before unplugging it, this conversation probably would not be going on. After i unplugged it and checked it out, the error code 16 came up. I gave my last xbox to my girlfriend, so i borrowed it to see if that hard drive would work, but it didnt. i know the problem is obviously my hard drive, but i can not do a hotswipe.
