I have just bought Splinter cell 1(Pal) + noname 8MB xbox memory unit, I have access to a modded xbox and I want to use this to softmod a new xbox(1.6 or 1.6b)
which SID do you guys recommend, does the SID 4.5 work with PAL xbox?

4.5 always a best option cuz every1 uses it ...
as far as the mem card ur going to need somtin to make it readable on pc, otherwise how your going to transfer game saves????
so get ar = auction replay .... or go throught a pain in the a** and make ur self a driver.. i dont know how to do it nor have the time so i just bought the ar for $30 us dollars.. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

does that mean there won't be a virtual eeprom so by mistake someone could unlock hdd and make the softmod unusubel?
also I have access to a chipped xbox do I still need AR(action replay), I thought you could transfer gamesava through chiped xbox.

Depending what dashboard you want to have, if you want to just have unleashx, then go with 4.5 but if you want XBMC, or anything similar, its easier install with 3.1.

installin xbmc as my dash was easy...modded with sid4...inserted xed disc...3 mins later had xbmc as dash... _________________

No, it doesn't matter if you're pullin the save file off the Chipped box. That's the beauty of always having a chipped box around. Good call with goin for the chip first, bro. I started out with Softmods and it was a NIGHTMARE. Back in the days of doing the font hacks and all that chit yourself. My poor box has seen more Error 21's than anyone else I know. (probably about 140 different types of mods have been done to my xbox in the past year, no exaggeration).
DON'T be afraid to experement, especially if you have a chipped box elsewhere you can easily pull the chip out of, throw on a solderless adapter, boot and fix your problem. Sid 4.5 is pretty much fool proof anyway. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

yea as far as your question goes .... the eeprom is no longer protected.. cuz some xbox pal were having issues... so this means configmagic can unlock your hd .... but only foools do this... now that u know why would u think of doing it ????
but angelos has a point as well.. if u have a chip then why not use it ? ??
but keep in mind that u can miss up xbox in both CHIPS and SOFTMODS..
everyone knows that....
but ultimatly u choose weather to go with chip or softmod...

The reason why I want to know if unlocking will make it unworkabel is bcs it will be used by ppl who don't know so much about xbox so they may by accident unlock it.. I'm still considering softmodding but if lesser experienced ppl will by accident nuke the xbox I wont much safer with chip but more work..
so If I want to install softmod with xbmc the SID 4.5 +xed is good? But just having AID 3 is enough for softmodding(BCS it alrealdy has SID 4.5 and a dash +apps)?

If you're going to have people who don' tknow much about xboxes use it, then don't install XBMC as the dash. Use UnleashX, and password protect the serious menus (File explorer, system, etc...) and don't install config magic, that can run from AID. If you unlock your xbox, it WILL NOT BOOT. The retail kernel (bios) needs to have a locked drive in order to run. If they do find some way to unlock it, then all you need to do is swap your chip into it, and lock down the HDD _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

I guess I could simply after installing the Unleash and apps via AID 3 just simply delete configmagic via xcommander and just password protect the apps that are sensitive..
Ive never used unleash hope it's as easy as evox.

guys guys guys .... why would you put a app that will unlock hds? think about it .... i would say try 4.0 if u dont have probs then keep it but if you do then try 4 .5 if u dont like it uninstall it to retail and put a chip ...... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

yes in reality, but trust me there is ppl who might do this and it's propably me who has to pay for it in the long run
ps. so the only thing virtual eeprom does is protect lock nothing else?
