Is it at all possible for me keep the stock xbox hardrive in my xbox, and install a second hardrive in it? Cuz I have a 20 GB Western Digital HD from an old computer that a friend gave me, and i wanted to put it in my xbox until i can afford a 400 GB for it. _________________ "Pain has a face, allow me to show it to you."

Yes, but you need to get or make a special IDE cable, and I think that you need a chip too. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

If nothing else, you'd need an Xtender case to accomplish that task and keep it all inside the Xbox. There just isn't room for another. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

hello.
there is no space under the hdd, all the space is under the dvd.
i`ve built my self two multi hdd xbox`s now, one with 4 baracuda`s all in a pc case and another i`ve just built using the stock case and three stock hdd`s
I had to leave the dvd drive out to be able to fit it all into a standard xbox case.
It takes about ten minutes to do the wiring to get it all up and running.

So in order to put three HDs in stock xbox u had to take out the DVD? So theoretically i could leave the DVD in and put two in or no? And is there a tutorial or can someone write one for it? _________________ "Pain has a face, allow me to show it to you."

I did put the two where the dvd drive goes,
If you can move the dvd to the right hand side
then yes you could fit two.
I have tried to move the dvd to the right handside myself but never figured out how to get it to fit nice enough.
I`ve tried cutting down heatsinks and shaving meat of the dvd drive as well.
