is there a difference in transfer rates?

also ive seen some tuts on making my own but i dont have crimpers and all that so could i just cut a cable and switch the wires around and tape it back up?

this is not a fact this is my opinion
i think a crossover cable is better and let me get this stright u want to rig a cat 5 cable lame
there pretty cheap at a computer store so rack the yard or whatever and buy your self one
wow a cat5 cable with tape on it is that cosidered a modd???????????

LMAO @ rake the yard....im a grown man with 3 kids....lol...i just have an extra cord here and saw the tut so thought hey maybe....

so anyways the main question you feel crossovers better? do you know the transfer rates? cause i saw a crossover it was 10/100 or something said 100mbps and so ive been trying to find out what the xbox one transfers at......

Ya man, U can do that. i did it. Works great. Just make sure to get everything rite. I managed to burn up a router doing it cause I din get the wires quite rite. But works good now.

its noting .... well hardly any secs in diffrnse of response time...

so either one would do it ....

u ownt see a diffrnse period...

if u wanna cut it up open and cross cables go 4 it but i'd perfer just pay 4 it and relive stress ... n time consuming..
