Can someone tell me if this has been tried already?

You can already plug the Xbox Memory Card into the PC via a docking usb cable or by making a homebrew memory card out of a USB Memory Stick.

You can also plug in USB storage devices into the 360 using the usb port

Could you therefore plug the XBOX memory card into the 360 USB and use any saves therein? It uses the same File system, it has to for backwards comp, so could this be possible?

I believe it has been done successfully, but by using a hotswap type method, rather than mem cards/memory stick.

What I mean is hotswapping HDDs into a PC, somehow mounting the X360 partitions, and transferring original xbox gamesaves to the 360 HDD.

Or something like that Confused

Can someone else explain it better please?

yes iv seen a tutorial on mounting a 360 drive on linux, but it seemed like a lot of hassle, i was trying to find a simpler way.

As i say, all the easy options have probably been tried but i was just checking to make sure something wasnt overlooked

Just in case microsoft reads these forums by the way, which I'm sure they do, how about a windows tool that could transfer saves from the pc via network? after all, the 360 dash can already stream music and other media from the pc, it would only take a slight dashboard modification to enable the 360 to see Xbox saves on the PC and either stream them or even better enable a copy to HDD option.

Or, if not modifying the dash, microsoft could release a CD creator that will grab saves from the pc and make an iso complete with installer executeble that the 360 could run.
