I am going to attempt to softmod my xbox using the splinter cell exploit. My questions are, is it possible to still play my copy of splinter cell after the exploit is installed? Also how do I boot up the xbox to the normal dash for x-box live? And is ther a way to recover my xbox if something should go wrong, I dont have the money for a new one. lol.

Use Sid 4 which i know your gonna use, its basically fool proof everything gets backed up, if you want to go on XBL you must have an account first before you install the softmod, and to boot to the original dash you press he eject button, the power button boots to the softmod, and if by anychance something goes wrong which i doubt, it can be recovered. _________________

So if I dont already have xbox live, and i install the softmod, i cant put xbox live on correct? and where do i get sid4 and do i need that autoinstaller shit cuz i dont have a burner

no you cant put xbl on when you have the softmod installed, it has to be done before you install the softmod. As for aid well you can install things manually by ftping over to your xbox but aid makes it easyier. A disc could be made for you but you would have to ask DJB about that. _________________

Im sorry i know i probably sound like a complete dumbass, but would it be possible to restore the factory settings on my xbox after installing the softmod? Like if i got live down the road after softmodding could i restore those settings and install live and then just reinstall the softmod?

Cool, how would i go about restoring the settings, and would doing that allow me to keep all my saved data such as game saves and soundtracks?

I know you gamesave data will still be there and soundtracks should still be there, to restore you pop in the Splinter cell disk and do the same thing when your gonna softmod and there should be a restore function. _________________
