Hey all, can anyone help me out? I got some roms and made roms folder, installed S64 and modifed the .ini file. Still no go, it loads but doesnt show any roms to select from. Did some research and am wondering this. Will Sereal only play.usa files. Will it even show the .n64 files as selectable? Maybe thats what I am doing wrong.

I have only been able to boot .usa files in my Surreal64 Emulator.

First of all, make sure you're using Surreal v1.0 and NOT the gueux.net version.
Second, the .ini file that you need to edit is in the E: folder of the xbox hard drive under TDATA/a64fea57/Surreal.ini ... change the rom path in here.
All of my roms are .n64 files and they all show up and load just fine. I had the same problem with the games not showing up. Turned out that I was using the gueux version. When I got the real Surreal, everything woked right away without even editing the .ini

Ok, i've followed the directions on this thread.
The ini file in TDATA is exactly the same as the one in the surreal folder. I modified the one in the surreal folder and the changes were applied to the one in TDATA.
This is what part of my ini looks like:
[Settings]
Rom Path=F:\Emus\Surreal64\roms\
Media Path=F:\Emus\Surreal64\Media\
Surreal locks up when i have it in a folder other than 'apps.'
what's the deal?

Hey Cheez, glad you got it going! When it comes to emulators I always try to use the latest version possible. I find better success rate with a majority of the roms.
The new version of Mame-OX that is on the autoinstaller is very nice. My version that I was using prior would not support the left analog thumbstick, and I couldn't go back to rom list. I kept having to go back to my evox and then reload the emulator...I am seriously enjoying Mame a lot more...and I didn't think it was possible.
My daughter loves the surreal64, she is forever playing the Mario games!
How many roms do you have for Surreal? I have a ton if you are in need of something let me know and I'll upload it if I have it!

It looks like a spoke too soon. All of the roms i have show up in surreal but freeze when i try to load them. most of them are .usa files but a few are .v64. they all worked with the previous surreal that i was using.
so far i have 1080, mario kart, beetle adventure racing, bust-a-move, and a few others. mostly from my early college years when friends and i would skip class to play.
i was looking for mario golf the other day. i found one place, but the files are no longer there. it's not a big deal really, but if you have it
some of my favorite games are from my childhood and the nes. kung fu, xcite bike, etc.

has anyone tested the lightgun features of the NEW MAMEOX??
I wanted to know if its working yet. Im sure the info said it had lightgun support in this version.

It works perfectly forhobby!! I love this version!
I just got a 2 DVD set of Mame roms, over 6GB. Unfortunately, they are all on DVD-R and my DVD drive that I have installed on PC can only read DVD+R's. I thought I could rip on my xbox then FTP over, but for some reason doesn't recognize any of the files. The first disk get's recognized, but it has a version of MameOX on it and it tries to install, but it's one version older than the one on the autoinstaller.
I am sending DJB the disks plus two blank DVD+R's, so he can pilfer the roms and then make me copies...hehehe. So see him for a copy yourself so you can cash in too.
Hey cheez, I have Mario Golf. Will FTP over to my PC and upload asap. I'll PM you when it's ready in the VIP download section.

Hey, where did you get the DVD's with all the ROM's? I have been downloading a few here and there, but would love to save some time by getting ahold of some CD's or DVD's.
