I noticed that dvd2xbox copies 2 defualt.xbe's (original and patched). When backing up games to dvd would it be better to rename and use the original default.xbe rather than the patched since it is patched to play from the hd?

I backed up SSX3, SC:PT, Fight Night, and some others. SSX3 doesn't work, SC:PT works just fine. I don't know why one would work, but not the other. I used dvd2xbox, Qwix, Nero, Memorex dvd+rs.

If an answer can't be provided I at least hope we can clarify the use of the 2 xbe's.

i think dvd2xbox is just giving you the oportunity to keep the original as a backup so you can patch it with something else.

I use clonexb2.3b works fine though ive only backedup one game - 007 everything or nothing

I'm thinking about making another copy of SSX3, but switching the xbe's so that the original one gets booted and not the patched one. I'll post my results.

***Update***
Ok, I made another backup up of SSX3, but this time I renamed the xbe_orig file so it will boot instead of the HD patched xbe. The game works fine now.

On some games it makes a difference. On others it doesn't. I will probably start using the original default.xbe instead of the patched version.
