My problem is since when booting SID4 hides the original C drive and instead mounts shadowc.img file.
So the problem is as follows - SID4 is installed as single boot, and when XBOX boots it mounts shadowc.img and simply I cannot make full backup of C drive.
So any ideas how to 'unmount' shadowc.img so I can access the real C drive and back it up

its script so u can do such thing like what u need.. TALK TO NKNAVE or DJB they made this softmod. But what is it that u intend to do???? IT DOES A BACKUP ON BEGEIN OF SOFTMODING procidure that way u dont end up with an error code FOR intense lets say u delte the dash or U somehow find a way to break the mod THEN U GET ERROR 22 * it doesnt exsist but that is what nknave wanted 2 be* and u simply press A and it fixix ur xbox 2 softmod stage ... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

The idea is to 'clone' already softmodded xbox hdd to a large drive

then just ftp the content to pc and then make new hd using hdm1.9 put retail ms dash located in pirrups signiture then leave E emtpy and put ur eeprom MAKE THE DISC once the new hd loads then ftp back the files from the pc to the new hd and presto.. TRUST ME IT TAKES LONGER ON CLOENING HD when u can just do this. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

May be cloning is a bad word. However I want to put large HDD. I cannot simply backup C, becouse I will backup the content of shadowc.img only, and not the REAL C. Somehow I must umnount shadowc.img and then backup and create the linux.iso file.

TRUST me do this
get retail ms dash files ... from pirrup .. then drag them to xboxhdm1.9 then leave ur E epmty put ur xbox EEPROM on xboxhdm then burn the disc.. once u make hd and run it good on the xbox thne u ftp the old xbox hd info to pc then ftp it back on ur new xbox hd.. THIS IS FAR THE BESET WAY OF DOING IT..
i have sid4 and i moded like 6 or so sid4 xboxs and i upgrade the hds on all of them .. and this way it never failes me ... try it . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

You can boot your xbox with the game u used to softmod it.When u get to the softmod menu screen,u should be able to ftp the contents of your real C drve to your pc because the shadow C should,nt be mounted.This worked for me. Hope that helps _________________ XBOX v1.0:

@kris993 - this may be true only if you have dual boot and can boot into retail mode. However I am on sigle boot ..

ok oem retail hd has ur personal stuff.. THAT STUFF ur gonna transfer to pc VIA ftp ....
now get a fresh copy of xboxhdm1.9 its here on hq...
then look 4 pirrup and under his signitres there should be a file called MS DASH....
open up xboxhdm transfer the ms dash files from pirrup to xboxhdm
then grab ur eeprom from the ftp files u alrdy transferd from retail hd and put ur eeprom on xboxhdm ... THEN click make iso win ... it wil fit a cdr .... burn the iso and that is part 1 .. part 2 is the hd connection and preping and lockin.. its REALLY REALLY simple....
so as u see it doesnt sound bad.. all u need from ur retail hd ... is ur eeprom so that way we can lock the new hdd and not end up with #06 ...
as long as u do retail files on xhd and eeprom .. then u 'll get a new xbox hd in no time.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Nikiiv-Did u try what i wrote?This should work.If you coldboot your xbox with any retail game in(not a backup), the softmod wont be running because its booting from the dvd drive before the hdd.So, just coldboot with the game that you used to do the softmod, then go to the softmod menu screen.once there you can ftp your real c drive.Single or dual boot dont matter. chris is right if u cold boot u can gain acces.. BUT to be totaly honest i think if u just make the new hd retail then ur good then from there u ftp the old xbox files to new hd ...
just so then we dont mistake our selfs.
but the funny thing is HE HAS FULL ACCES and he hasnt ftp his info..
do that then u put retail ms dash files on xboxhdm ... I'V DONE THIS AND IM SOO SURE THIS IS THE FAR ESSIEST WAY OF DOING IT .... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

cris993 is right, however.. I kind-a wonder why coldbooting an retail game does not activate SID, but coldbooting a backup activates SID???
May be bios check media, then understands that this is not a game and runs dash to handle it.. where SID takes place
I forget to mention that almost everyghing went smooth.. I had some problems xboxhd locking drive, so I used a DOS utilities and I forgot to upload evoxdash.xbe at first place, however SID recovered the dash.
SID4 is so great, I can only wonder SID4.5 what will be..

ok so its like this so coldboot cancels softmod But ur gonna load the linux and when the linux is loaded on game save menu then the ftp is active..
now as far is locking it ?? problems lockin hd by tpyin these commonds?? lockhd -a ??? n e ways did u got the upgrded hd 2 work? if it did now ur runnin sid4????

gus, I what I did was retail C and TDATA & UDATA in E. The I did splinter cell to get an ftp server.
Then I ftp-ied softmodded C and .. I forgot evox on E, however SID saved the day.
So almost it was your way.. really smooth.
