Can someone please tell me why Mercenaries only will work with the original hard drive and not the 120gb that I installed. I softmodded it and tried Mercenaries in it and it stops at the same spot everytime. I put the original drive but softmodded and it works.

Did you install it on your new drive from dvd, or did you FTP the files??
I had a game that wouldn't work when I ftp'd it, so I installed it from the dvd, and it worked like a charm..
Can't remember which game it was tho...

I mean when i get to a particular part of a game it goes to the load screen and freezes there. Also it does it on the original copy playing it from the DVD drive and i also put it on my hard drive and it does it. I put the original hard drive back in and it works fine.

I used the splinter cell soft mod 3 i used it on the 120gb I used the same one on the original drive and mercenaries is fine on the original drive i am also using unleash x

Where in the game does this freeze happen? I've not play the game much, but I'd like to see if this freeze happens on me too..
I played the heck outta the Demo on the OXM, then got the game last week for $7.99 used.... Backed it to the hard drive, and played a little of the 1st level.. I've since started playing 25toLife.. Now that game is fun.. I love the fact that the offline game effects how your character looks, etc online...
anyhow, does this freeze happen early in the game??

The game freezes right when u get to the china hq and u talk to the guy in front of it he lets u in and it goes to a load screen and the white circle thing spins a couple times then it stops.

I tried a different hard drive i put a 200gb in and it works fine now it mustve been something wrong with the drive.
