can someone who has installed a 300gb hd give me feedback?\
how is it working?
Mainly regarding if they are experiencing file corruption,
what is the max gb G: drive can hold?
if u can help me in any way, i'd appreciate it.

It would depend on the bios used. If it's supports a drive of that magnitude. Most of the 300 gigs should be sitting on G.

Let me do some homework.

My 300 GB Hard Disk works just fine, however I did not install it, I paid someone to install it for me. When the disk is fairly empty, you do not see the entire MB of the disk but as you get it going down, it shows you the MB once it goes below that point. We have all our games copied to the hard disk and use this xbox for camping trips and traveling so we don't have to carry all the xbox games in their cases.

roadkill9191 did u read the post i did on the other thread?? ur 120 should work fine...
u just typed wrong commond promopt lockhd -p so do the same to unlock it unlockhd -p and u should be fine.. re create the disc after that and re do the process

Sounds like you have the original unmodded or softmodded xbox hdd, so go do your trade then lets start again.
Yes a 300 gig can work on a softmod.
So go snag the new hdd then lets go from step one.
I'd recommend AID 2.1.1 and use it's softmodding features, it's easier to do the upgrade with, all you need to do is format the drives, xfer the eeprom and install your dashes.
We can walk through it when you get back.

and my box is softmoded with sid 4 with a soft mod i didnt think you could lock the hd thats why i used the xbox hard drive manager but i did some thing worng last time

Use 3, it's easier, trust me or use AID 2.1.1 that's what I used to upgrade and once I got off SID4 and on to AID 2.1.1 which is really SID 3 for softmods, it went very quickly.
I was re-reading your post and softmods MUST have the hard drive locked. If unlocked then the softmod is no longer married to the hdd and it will not work until it's locked again, which can be a nasty bit of work.

um if i use sid 3 wat will b the real diffs ??
cause wont i have 2 lock the drive using Xbox HD maker any way?
the 120 gigger is locked right now but instead of using the key auto maticly i typed it in and i gues i typed it wrong so now its liocked with the wrong key so my xbox cant use it and i cant unlock it with out the key (the reason i wanna ulock it is so i can re lock it to the right key)
im going in like 40 min ithink my mom went w/ my sis car shopign so when they get back im going
should i put sid 3 on my box now??

You can put sid 3 on there but i really dont think you need to.
If your using xboxhdmkr ,just make make a stock hdd then put it in your xbox and run the sid 4 softmod again
Put a retail ms dash in the C folder, eeprom.bin file in the eeprm folder
then build the hdd and lock it. Put it in your xbox and it should be just like a unmodded xbox.Then just run the softmod again. _________________ XBOX v1.0:

If you wish, but you won't see the need. SID 4 protects the uber noob by shadowing C and it's kinda hard to find the eeprom for the upgrade.
Sid 3 is just as stable, just dont unlock the hard drive.

dont u need 2 put the hard drive into the comp 2 get the hard drive locked (the new 1)
