ok, i got it, installed it, flashed it with lastest bios from xbins, installed Evox dash and apps, loaded some (ahem) "backed up" games onto hd, and um, played them. All works great.
But now what?
i know its got 2mb mem, 15 banks, etc etc, but what do i do with them? i'm understanding of the bach up bios being a good idea, but the capacity for other bios? How do i get the most out of this chip?
oh, and what path do i set to boot straight to evox dash when i boot with the white button?
cheers for any help

You could flash a couple other mod bios to the other banks if you want, but the Xecuter 3 bios is the best .

In X3 config live you can disable X3 config live from always booting and that should boot you directly into your default dash. Make sure your path is correct. I think you hold the white button while you're booting into your dash to get back to X3 config live. _________________ [XBOX v1.6b / Xecuter 3 CE / Western Digital Caviar SE 300GB HD / ATA166 IDE Cable / XCM Cystal Clear Case / Red Firework LED 80mm Fan / 12v Fan Mod / UnleashX Default Dash]

Right. Turn off the autoboot into the Live, and you will boot your preferred BIOS (also settable from the Live BIOS screen). Also, you can set up an "alternate" boot while holding the trigger (I use this for XBMC).
Yes, it is true that you have 16 banks of 128KB each, but most X3 Bios' require 8 of those banks (for a 1MB BIOS). So, technically, you can only put a couple more on there. I would take a look at putting the EvoX M8plus BIOS on banks 8-15, if you want, but personally, the X3 Bios is WAY better for this chip.

thanks for the advice.
am currently using the X3 v3294 bios, which i presume is the latest available bios. i was checking this on the TeamXecuter website, but now that just takes me straight to the forum! any ideas where i can find out when they're updated?
my default dash is evox, at boot where it takes you to the X3 controls, where i reboot to dash, this takes me to evox. what is the path? i havent done a stealth rebuild (used slayers 2.6 disk) so i presume its on C:, but i'm not sure of the file name, and after screwing this up the 1st time (my xbox was chipped with an enigmah 1st gen) i dont want to start f@#king it up again!!
any ideas of other mods i can get upto? this is all pretty new to me, but i aint stupid and i'm learning pretty quickly!!
cheers all

Can you FTP into the xbox? I would suggest getting that up and running. That way you can see where the Slayer's put your evox dash. I have never used slayers, only AID and XED.
Your X3CL bios in the most current build. And don't worry, your X3 is a little more forgiving than your enigmah 1st gen, you can backup anytime. _________________

also, i'm having trouble copying my Big Ass Emulator disk to HHD thru dvd2xbox. can i ftp games/roms across? and what the difference between ftp an http?
