i have been trying to purchase a xenium sp ice modchip for the past month and each time i put in an order with vendor, they come back a week later and then tell me they are out of stock. can anyone recommend another chip to get which is solderless. frankly i dont trust myself to solder it in. Or can anyone recommend a person in south florida to pick one up.

what is ur goal?? r u trying 2 have a moded xbox and stil be able to use xbox live??? if so then 4get about modchip and get sid4 with dual boot funtions what that is it will let u have mod and another option to have retail .. say 4 ex.. u power on the xbox normaly then u get mod and u get red circle that indicates mod is active But if u ejet try then u got retail normaly green light means.. safe 4 live.. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

sounds good. i didnt think of that. are you saying that once i use a mod chip, i wont be able to use xbox live?

The newer generations of chips allow XBL play, but there are some nuances. For instance, I use the Xenium ICE - to run XBL, you have to create an entry for the TSOP (where the ms kernel is installed) and load that profile any time you want to run XBL. The TSOP entry disables the chip, rendering it invisible to the MS servers.
Also, if you were to upgrade your HDD AFTER being on XBL, you would probably have to upgrade your EEPROM as well due to the "marriage theory" (each HDD is keyed to a specific EEPROM...if you upgrade one or the other, the xbl servers will notice and can you).
So, yes, you can play XBL with a chip installed, but there are a few steps you must take to ensure you don't get hosed!

i would say just do the new breeds of softmods such as
sid4 or 4.1 or 4.4 or 6.6.6 and do the dual boot = retail so that way u press ejet try open then ur xbox turns on with evertying that is why its called retail
I never said u coulnt go on live with chip i said ur chip has to be turn off 2 use xbl ...
