I was just surfing the web and I was checking IGN out to see what they had to say on DOOM3 and any other Xbox news and I came across this interview with the guy who is plannin to nail Rockstar and violent games. I dont know if anyone has seen this just yet. So if you have Im sorry for wasting your time. But anyone who wishes to comment please do so...here is the link... http://xbox.ign.com/articles/536/536070p1.html
Another thing...what has been your worst video game buying experience? I mean did the person give you a hard time because they thought you were under age? or did they give you problems for something else? Like maybe they didnt appreciate what the game was because of the title or something. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

Yeah, I have been following it since I first posted the news article a few days ago on our news page, prior to the IGN interview.
I have a real problem with society in general blaming homicidal tendencies on what we watch, listen to, or play. It's not up to Rockstar to raise our children or instill good morals and values. It's up to Rockstar to make video games. It's up to Rockstar to create products that allow gamers to take a break from reality. To have fun.
I also have a real problem with our society becoming so litigious that a lawyer has actually allowed himself to be retained for a lawsuit against a company that makes fu*king video games because someone failed to properly raise their child. What's next? Sue HBO because they show a movie that some confused poorly raised person can't substatiate between fiction and reality?
In this particular case it is the parent that failed. Video games have ratings. If their childs mind is so easily swayed, if he was so addicted to such a terrible game why didn't the parents step in and actually be parents and take the game away and forbid him to play. Rockstar didn't fail this child. Mom and Dad did.
I have a 7 year old daughter that I let watch things that some parents probably don't allow their own children to watch. Not because I don't care, not because I am irresponsible, but because I have already taught my child between what is real and what is not. She enjoys the entertainment that a good horror movie can bring. She enjoys the fantasy of driving a fake car and running over fake pedestrians. But she knows that it isn't real, and that normal people just don't do that. Jesus, she plays Shrek2 all the time but you don't see her out looking for a fuc*ing OGRE!!
I know that Rockstar will prevail in any lawsuit that is brought against them as I cannot begin to fathom that any justice system would remotely see any coalition between gaming and murder. I wish that someone would pass a law that allowed corporations to countersue people who levied frivilous lawsuits against them. Then so many people wouldn't roll the dice and tie up our judicial system. Instead, maybe they would take a closer look in the mirror and judge their own ways and means when it comes to mistakes that they or a loved one has made.

Yea, I saw your comment on the news section a few days ago. This is ridiculous. I agree 110%. The parents failed this kid. But then why on earth did the kid take it upon himself to do that. Something is wrong with the kid I'd say. And Rockstar has allready made it through a similiar problem havent they? I have no doubt they will make it through this. People just want to blame someone.....videogames in particular
On another note....hey realmccloy ur less than 100 posts to making 1000, lol not that you didnt notice of course... _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

HA..yeah, I have already been reminded that I am catching up to forahobby..the site owner. But, as I have always said...quanity has never outdone quality!! Cheers to forahobby!!
You have to keep in mind, I am a newbie that asked a hell of a lot of questions at the beginning...HA
I try to contribute as much as I can now since people were so nice to help me out at the very beginning, which was only in April. If it wasn't for this place I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am now. I would be sifting through replies like RTFM at other forums!
