Ok so i just got an xbox 1.6b with a xecuter 2.6 chip and 200 GB hardrive. After hours of frustration i finally flashed the bios with the evox m8 bios and installed slayers auto install. I think i installed the wrong bios because for one i can only see 120 gb of my 200 gb hardrive and two my xbox freezes a lot. (during games, while backing up games, on the dashboard, at all times really) I read somewhere that switching to the evox m8+ might help the freezing. So my question after the long intro is: How do i switch my bios from the evox m8 to the evox m8+ with large hardrive support? Also do you think that will help fix my freezing problems?
Im on my last leg here and all help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You need to flash your chip with a bios that has the LBA48 patch to use the rest of the HDD. You can also use the xecuter 4983.06 bios. _________________

thanks for the quick reply, but i guess my main question is how do i change my bios? i already have m8 installed. how do i install m8+? ive already got the new bios on my computer i just dont understand how to reflash a bios. total beginner here.

You can either FTP the bios to your xbox or you can flash the chip via a cdr/dvd. I prefer to FTP. You can get flash fxp if you don't have it already and just open a connection between your PC and the xbox. Then after you transfer the bios, you can flash from the folder the you transfered the bios to.( usually c or e) _________________

i cant network my xbox and computer right now. is there anyway you can give me semi-detailed explation of changing bios via dvd-r? and since i am using slayers i dont have a flash bios option on my evox menu.

14 total successful solder-mod xbox's (v1.0 to v1.6b; favorite is v1.4 Sept 2003; very clean motherboard and usually has Samsung DVD), including two 128MB upgrades and 2 X3 LCD/CP's.

yes it did, switching from the m8 16 to the m8+ 16 fixed all the freezing, my xbox runs perfect now
