Hi:
Please help. I use SID 3 Mechassault to softmod my xbox, and then the outcome is a total failure. First, I copied the SID Mechassault to the HDD, and then I boot it into the original Mechassault DVD game to install Evox, and other dashboard in the SID and patch MS, and I reboot again to the AID 2.1 DVD to install all the applications and emulators. However, after I install all the AID and I reboot the xbox, the xbox either shows a screen of messages of "xbox is trying for live update, the live update is not responding. Please try again later....." or a screen of such messages of "your xbox requires customer service........". I don't know how to fix it up. The weird thing is that it can still boot to my original xbox DVD game, but no any dashboard, not even original MS dashboard. If I try to get into the Compaign and run Linux again in the Mechassault, the xbox keeps rebooting and rebooting, but it allows me to play game normally. Every guru helps me, please. Thank you!

Pirrup's hot swap was ALSO the reason I donated. I was so panic'ed when I doorstopped my drive with a stupid dash delete on a softmod (though a chip mod fixed it too, and I ultimately went that route), but $10 was CHEAP for the help I got here. Pirrup probably has earned this site more $$$ than any single other problem.

I keep getting undefined mode number, and I'm unsure about the timing. Do I swap when it starts flashing red and green? My computer boots weird... should I boot CDROM, A, C... or C, CDROM, A? It takes a lot less than 8 seconds for the light to flash too...
