Hi can anybody help me to find all the specs of my new xbox ,
I know it has EVOX and AVALAUNCH and most all the other progs that normally come DVD2XBOX etc but how do i find out what chip is installed ?
And also can i update the bios via a burned cd or do i have to connect to a pc
Sorry for the complete lack of knowledge !!

The only two ways your find out what's in the box is to either open it, or contact the seller. If you are real luck, the Avalaunch or Evox might identify the bios, but that's about it. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Openning the system is really easy. If you follow the first steps of this tutorial, you'll be able to see where the chip is.
If you can't identify it by looks, you can take a picture of it and post it here, and one of us will be able to identify it for you.

Ugh, that's what always made me not order premods from people I don't know really well. They can charge you $60 for an X3, plus the installation, and then end up softmodding the thing...
Gpax, I noticed that you have Xenium ICE set as your chip. Is this what you ordered, or what you just assumed to be in there?

Well, a good hint that it is a softmod is if it hasn't been opened up before (grin). Is the sticker ripped/cut to get to that 6th screw on the bottom? How about the rubber feet (though those can be stuck back on).

then open it up and look it already has a voided warrenty course you need the screwdrivers fo rit but they should only set you back like $2

Just a nudge about the indications on the forums under peoples avatars.
Some are putting Xeniums by default. It's a minor bug in the forums that forahobby will be working on.
Xbox Version: Xbox V1.0
Modded: Xecuter2.6 CE
You would see that all users will show a V1.0 and a chip of some kind. Currently appears to default to Xecuter. HA!

gpax you'll need two Torx screwdrivers to open up your box and remove the drives. You can get them at Sears or any hardware store .
T-20 for the case screws (6 screws)

You can try booting to a BIOS screen. Assume it is a chip and try all the various things. Like hold white button down on a controller while booting and see if it boots to an Xecuter Config Live Bios screen. What does the external switch look like (picture)? Probably can ID it from that...
You can't check with whomever you got it from?
I'd recommend just opening it up and figure out for sure once and for all.
