i have fitted 40gb 5400rpm seagate hard drives to my xboxes so the answer is yes any hard drive should do but there is a limit as to how big you can fit but its pretty big. There have also been some people who said that they have had problems with fitting 7,200 rpm drives but i dont think this applies to all 7,200 rpm drives but if you can get a drive the size you like with 5,400 rpm then all the better.

Hi RatBoyWilson and welcome,

Ive had my xbox with my 80gb 7200rpm drive for over 10 months now and I havent had a problem.. I use it for backing up my laptop, holding all my movies, games, roms, and other stuff..

I leave my xbox on 24x7 and it doesnt seem have a problem at all with overheating and thats when the local temperature is normally around 29o degrees Celcius in Australia. Ive also upgraded quite a few friends machines and they havent had a problem either..

Just get whatever HD you can afford and whack her in mate.. She'll be right.. Smile

the only thing u may run into problem with is the size of HDD but i think the new evolution x dash solve that by adding a new drive as Gdrive
yea id u get HDD bigger that 135gb, u wont be able to get extra space from it and xbox reads as 120 gb
