So how easy is it to get into the 360? Pretty damn hard- but of course my lads- i figured out how to FTP into the damn thing-
only problem is- you need a User name and password (i assume Tech support and stuff are the only ones who have acess to the system)
i tryed all sorts of crap and i keep getting ACESS DENIED- On this big red screen.
Any one else have any ideas?
Im going to post my ideas on different ways of breaking into the system here in a bit- i also have some reviews im adding to the review section plus another forum on what i thought of the 360- including PICTURES!!
I also need to convert all the scans of the PDZ, Call of Duty 2, and Condemned manuels into PDF's-

I hooked up my 40 GB External HD to my USB ports- guess what guys? it works- hehe- well atleast for Music, pics and vids.
Ok- here is some info for us to look on :
- The flash is encrypted with a per-box key
- The key is stored inside the CPU
- The boot ROM is stored inside the CPU
- Also inside the CPU is a hypervisor that verifies the running state of the kernel, making sure there is no modification (RAM checksums), else the Xbox360 panics and blows up!
- The CPU contains RAM inside of it to store the checksums
- All interrupt/exception handling is done by the hypervisor
- All code runs in kernel mode
- The emulator for first generation games can be updated via an official Microsoft download burned to CD by the user, though the CDs' content will be encrypted and signed with public key cryptography.
The Xbox 360's Hard Disk appears to connect to the Xbox 360 via 7-pin SATA, internally the drive connects to the external connector through standard SATA data and power connectors. This should be of some help.
If one of us can figure out how to make our own Emulation profiles- PERHAPS we could run some sort of Expliot? But first we need more info on how the system works- XEX, not XBE files my firendlys.

If I had one of those new fangled 360 gadgets, you know I'd be swimming around in it to see what makes it tick. Perhaps Santa. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Ok guys-
im finishing up my reviews on Call of Duty 2, PDZ, and Condemned- After one whole week of testing- Let me just say, i want these reviews to seem professional and such- so i need people to proof read, EVEN THOUGH i will proof read and run the document through spell check and such.
Hobbs- would it be to late for me to wrap up my final conclusion of the 360 on the news board? I could have it finished by tonight (i have to type up a report on Kinetics and NURBS for Class anyway- might as well)
I know its a week late, but let me just say i've explored EVERY aspect of the system.
Xbox Live, Backwards compatibility, USB connection, Windows MEdia Center connect (with Media center edition and XP service pack 2) , Wireless, non-wireless controlls, Xbox live arcade- chating, Windows, wireless networks, Feed back- ETC.
So can i hobbs- PLEASE!!!! with sugar on top? Or jellyfish...what ever people from down under perfer, lol.

hi loki,
since you trying to gain access via ftp have you looked into some sort of auto password generation script which can change auto and keep trying?? Im sure there would be something out there with ftp capabillities.
Maybe a good idea to hunt.. It could crack that sucker..

Could an exploit be run through media connect or find the settings which it uses to get into the box that way? I mean wouldnt it still have to use a password and username either way....its just being hidden right?....I am going to have to give this ftp deal a shot later in the week..if i come up with anything i will let you guys know....later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

Actully Yoshie- check the News section on the HQ site- A guy got WMC to run some other programs on the system- internet browsing, streaming radio- etc.
Although shareware games dident hold out so well.
