OK, I'm probably gonna get the crap flamed out of me for this post but i've never bothered to look into Xbox live with a modchip and all of what i've read so far online has been a little bit conflicting. Can someone PLEASE set me straight on this one.... Can i play XBL at all with a xenium modchip running a hacked bios, (or even an original bios) and no switch for the chip? If i can that would be great because when i get my Xbox 360 in a few weeks (Hopefully) i will be getting a gold premium account so then i can play my 360 online properly and (possibly, if i can do this) also play my modded xbox online too.
Please be gentle with me on this one, i know the flames can get really hot!!!!! lol _________________ Predtech

Joke...
Ya it can be done but one must be careful where all the goodies are stored and pay attention to whether one has been on XBL prior with the same box or not.
If all is standard on "C" drive AND you remember to turn off the chip.
You should be fine. ALSO>>>>>> do not have any Halo map mods on the drive for if found it's the big BANHAMMER for ya. But yes, it can be done. The Xenium itself is stealth when turned off. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

First, all data on "C" must smell just like a virgin Xbox or it's ban hammer.
Second... always boot with the M$ bios ONLY and boot ONLY to the M$ dash. If you've ever been on XBL with this box before and then changed anything at all.... be prepared for a ban. Be sure all Udata & Edata saves have NO cheats in them. After that... you will be ok.
Last thing.. don't EVER let the Xbox automatically sign in to XBL or you will fugg up and miss it just once, attempting to log in with anything modded is the ban hammer.
I'd suggest XLINK or XBConnect personally. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Just to build on Shark's comments, here's the rules of thumb with the Xenium:
1. Make sure you install the retail kernel to the chip as per the Iceguide on the TX site -> ICEGUIDE
2. Make sure you have the original disk - no dups!
3. Make sure your HDD is locked (can do so via the XOS menu)
Boot into the Retail Kernel via the XOS Launch Items menu, and load it from there. DO NOT LOAD THE MS DASH FROM WITHIN A MODDED DASH - you will be banned.
Essentially, by loading the Retail Kernel (TSOP for short) via the XOS menu, it prevents the chip from being detected (powers it down) and allows you to run XBL.
Now, if you've upgraded your HDD and have used XBL in the past with another HDD, you may be hosed due to the "marriage theory", which states that your EEPROM and HDD Serial number are always and forever bound to each other.
Just my 0.02 USD! HTH

I never really liked you.

When using the M$ bios, it won't even know anything is there except the DVD drive and C drive. The only way to access games on the hdd is via another bios. Another bios + XBL = Ban. Once you are banned, PM me and I'll give you my mailing address to take your unloved xbox in to a loving home. Oh, and if you'd leave that Xenium in there too? 'preciate it!
By the way,wahman143, that was a really cool explaination you gave a few posts up. Very good! How 'bouts you be the admin and I'll go back to being a really abusive end user.
Of course either shortacid or enigma would ban me faster than I could say wtf? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

LMAO!!
The ONLY reason i'm going to have an xbox 360 on monday night is because i'm going to camp my cold ass out for over 6 hours outside of Walmart to get one. Sheer dedication and will not to let any other bastard get his mits on my console is all that's egging me on.........

Pfft 6hours that's all? I'll probably start camping about 4:30 or so my time, takes me about 30 min to get there, and I'll take off work early that day. (4:00 instead of 5:00). Grab a pizza on the way down there, and a 2 liter soda, and bring my chair, i'm ready to camp. _________________

Be careful bro, the last thing you want is to be dying for a piss or a shit 4 or 5 hours into your wait time. It'll kill you and you know there is NOBODY that will hold that spot for you. Not for love nor money. I might see if i can get off early that day too and get another hour in, that's a good idea bro.
