If you use the Backup option in the main menu of the EvolutionX dash, it will backup your bios, eeprom, and hard disk info into a folder called backup, in whichever directory you have evox installed in. As for other dashes, im not sure, sorry.

I must be an idiot because I don't see the back-up option. I softmodded my Xbox and now want to put a larger HDD in. I thought I followed all the instructions but I dont see EEPROM.BIN in the MS/Backup folder. I used AID2 to softmod my system. Can I use Configmagic to back-up EEPROM and if so will it find it or do I need to direct it,

Yes, I truely wish that config magic were able to be included in the Softmod menu (SID 4.0???). It has some wonderful features that it seems you must wait until you get a full AID install made to get your eeprom.bin. In some cases, that may be too late...grin. Still, at least there is the hot swap method if you are stuck before you can get a back up. And a mod chip also decreases the chances of door stopping your box.

Well I took the plunge and modded my box. I had to swallow the lump in my throat but all is well. I'll defiantely do it again on my other box once I get everything figured out. Smile But I think I may have installed XBMC too many times though. I see it on C:, E:, and E:Apps. I am using XSwitch and the beginning to load different dashes. I'm afraid to remove those other installs, on C: and E:. Can they safely be removed, or should I just leave them? Everything is working as is right now.

When I ran AID I made a backup of the MS which is in the backups folder. I backed that up using FTP. I haven't made a backup of the MOD yet. I'll do that soon. I've been trying to backup the EEPROM but I cant seem to get that to work. I tried the backup feature in EvolutionX but I didn't find it anywhere. I also tried ConfigMagics backup feature. Didnt see any results there. There are so many similar menu items in that program that I'm afraid to do anything else with it.

Can someone provide a step-by-step guide for backing up the EEPROM me so I dont fudge anything up? Thanks!

Oh wait. In E:/Apps/EvoX3935/backup/ there are a bunch of files. I see an eeprom.bin there. Would I be assuming correctly by saying that's what I want?

Guys could you still provide me with perhaps a breakdown of what each feature does in ConfigMagic? I'd like to have a better understanding of what those options are for and why (why not) I should use them.

I'd still like to also know how clean my partitions up, eliminate the duplicate, uneccessary installs if possible.
