Hi!
I found this website that sells Xbox games backups in the States, but it has a disclaimer about the Copyright laws over there, saying that if you buy a game you must have the original, otherwise is your responsability if you get caught.
I was wondering if there is any law here in the UK that is in any way similar to that.

I'm guessing not. It would still be illegal to import backup games.

Judgement call. The topic can stand as is and the discussion can take place, but I sure don't want the link on the site to a location selling backups.
Makes me uncomforatble.
Interesting that a site would do that though.
Wonder how long it would be before they get raided for piracy.
I don't believe that the claim that it's your responsibility to have the original will protect them since it's the owner that has license to do the back up and not a third party.

i no this is a bit of topic but it is still about illigal things.
1. in the uk is it illigal to sell modded xboxs
2. in the uk is it illigal to sell modded ps2's

You will need to check your local laws.. In Australia only just like 4 weeks back modchips are now LEGAL again.. hooray.. But it wont last long.. It changes all the time.. lol

GAME BACKUPS ARE ILLEGAL IN MOST IF NOT ALL COUNTRIES INCLUDING:
USA, Australia, UK that i know of..
We had members who did start to offer backups but soon found out from M$ that it was illegal no matter how many disclaimers. I have never condone xbox backups and really dont want to see it discussed in our forums either.

I dont know about this topic- it makes me sad when people point the finger at us hobbiets. Hell, even at work my fellow employees call me a pirate (a nick name if you will) they dont mean it in a mean way- in a kidding way.

But like everyone said- illegal - period
Take this over to the X-s and see what happens (they would flogg you up the A$$!) atleast here were nice about it!
