i bought an xbox mod chip with a 1 solder wire, and i still don't know where to solder a modchip into my xbox, i just know how to take it apart, and i also have no idea on how to get my modchip to work with any of my xbox games, so basicly i'm totally new to modchips, i don't know anything about them except that they mod xbox games, i don't know how. So if anyone can give me instructions on how to install a 1 solder modchip, how to get it to work with both my xbox and my xbox games, thank you.

Can you be more specific. What mod chip did you buy. What version Xbox do you have? Are you also putting in a larger HD? _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Okay, first thing you need to do is determine what version Xbox you have.
That will effect the way you install the chip.
If its a 1.0 to 1.5 you want to solder the pin header in. If it's a 1.6 it's a quick solder on the mobo, which actually handles the chip install and LPC rebuild all in one motion.
Next, also you will need a bios to flash to the mod chip. From the same site please read up on flashing the chip. I prefer the network flashing method which is a very nice feature for a 20 dollar chip! I wish the LT OPX had this.
You will need a 256k bios. I suggest X2 4983.06 if you have version 1.0 to 1.5 Xbox, and M8plus if you have version 1.6or 1.6b Xbox.
We have these available here in our VIP download section.
Once you have the chip installed and flashed, now it's time to add files to your HD.
You should get a hold of an autoinstaller, preferably AID 2.0.2
This will allow yo to prepare your existing HD, install apps, emu's, dashboards, etc.
HOwever, I emplore you to consider a larger HD. Your stock HD wont hold squat. It's 8-10GB in size and you will only have about 4.6GB of free space on you E drive after apps are added.
If you get a 120GB or larger, you will then get an F drive and can have all kinds of space for game downloads and other storage.
Hopefully, this is enough info to get you started. You'll like the Xchanger. I have installed a lot of these chips lately. Haven't had any issues yet.
