I just http flashed my xecuter 2.6 chip while on bank 1. After rebooting the xbox it reboots twice then starts flashing red and green non-stop. I tried to boot up from bank 2 but no luck. Is my chip (and $40) wasted now? I'm so frustrated I want to throw my xbox out of the window !!!

I wouldnt exactly say your modchpi is wasted.. YOu could purchase a X2 programmer and use your pc to flash the modchip directly..
I would suggest using the EVOX M8 bios for the X2 modchip..
Just make sure you flash the right EVOX M8 bios for your xbox version.
eg. there are 2 M8 bioses.. 1 x bios is for xbox versions v1.0-v1.5 and the other is for xbox versions v1.6..
Will the X2 programmer allow me to write over the corrupted data that messed up my chip, or is this a *hit or miss* option. I've never heard of an X2 programmer *I'm VERY new to all of this crap*

The X2 programmer will flash the chip anyway you want it to. It allows you to recover from a bad flash. I have one that I've never used and I'll sell it to you cheap. Just check for prices online and let me know if you want it.
Also you might want to make sure the connections are screwed up, is it solderless or soldered?
It could be that it is now loose and FRAGging(Flashing Red and Green)

On a related note, I never could get my flash programmer to work with my Xecutor 2.6 CE (for one thing, there were fewer pins than the socket on the 2.6 CE had, and there were no instructions included (and the team xecutor site didn't show a good enough pic for me to see if I could figure out how to plug it in). I tried all the positions anyway, but never could get a good "read/connect" per the docs. So, I just bagged it and HTTP: flashed mine in the box (worked fine).
I am curious about the Bank1/2 issue, since it seemed to me that you can ONLY flash bank 1 (Bank 2 seems to be a backup ROM flash BIOS), regardless of the bank setting, but I could be completely wrong. I thought I read that you can only flash Bank 1, but then other places talk about flashing Bank 2. I booted my box to bank 2 (after flashing X2 to Bank 1), which brought up the flash bios again, and tried to flash Evox M8, but it just replaced the Bank 1 X2 bios. Seemed like this was a safety measure to allow you to only flash Bank 1, and Bank 2 was a safe always available flash BIOS for you to boot to. Shrug. Keep in mind this is ALL only referring to the http flash method with the chip in the xbox. Not the programmer (so I don't know if you can over write Bank2 there).

you have an older x2 programmer, and an x2.6 chip. the x2.0-x2.3 chips had the smaller pinheader block (like a xenium and others) but the x2.6 and x3 have the extra pins. you need a new 2.6 programmer to program a 2.6.
you can flash both banks of an x2, but not one at a time. if you use a 512k bios it will flash bank1 regardless of where the switch is set. if you use a 1024k bios it will flash the whole chip, both banks, at once. it seems pointless but its cool to take 2 512k bios and set each to boot different dashboards, then combine them to a 1024 and flash with it. that way when you flip the switch you get xbmc instead of evox or whatever _________________ .

Perfectly answered. Thanks! Funny thing is, the place I bought the X2.6 CE from was packaging these programmers with the chip...so I figured they should work with that chip. That'll teach me to ASSuME anything.
The 2 bank 1Mb flash makes more sense now too. Thanks!
