You are basically correct, except for the price of the controller.
You said the wireless controller was 49.99, well that is sorta true. If you bought the normal xbox360, you would get a wired controller which is 39.99. When you upgrade the the premium package, you substitute your wired controller for the wireless, which makes the upgrade to wireless controller really only 10 dollars, not 49.99, so it is not quite as good a deal as most people think (advertising works).
Even with this little misconception, it is stil a great deal for the premium package For the harddrive alone, it is worthit in my opinion. _________________ XBOX- V1.0

hehe well i got all the prices out of a offical microsoft ad out of my new gamepro and the savings is well worth it i personally wish they just had 1 package with the hdd cause less games will use it and load times may sux =/ oh well

yea, its definetly a waste to pick up the $300 package. except most of us are going to be upgrading the hdd to something MUCH larger as soon as its possible

Even if you plan to upgrade the harddrive, you will need m$'s purely for the aesthetic look of the outside. Otherwise, you will have wires coming out the top and a harddrive sitting open on top. _________________ XBOX- V1.0

You are going to ruin the beuty of this new xbox360, Just Kidding. I guess it is a personal choice. But, the harddrive is really only a $60 item as you won't really need to buy a $40 memory card. true enough, $40 for the memory card is a fucking joke. they are pretty much making it the most feasible to purchase the $400 version, but why even offer the $300?? "so people that aren't "hardcore" gamers can still get in on it", well even the casual gamer is gonna need the $40 memory card to save anything. so the basic package is gonna be $340, your right. imho they are corporate bastards
