Well I soft modded my xbox today. But now, whenever I start up my xbox with the disc tray open, it no longer goes to that menu with the installing dashboard and things. I need it because I need to change my dashboard from EvoX to Unleashed because EvoX I dont seem to be able to change back from widescreen mode. And also I cannot access my saves in my xbox anymore. Also my friend is also experiencing the problem now where he cannot access that menu

Yeah if you deleted any of the softmod gaves saves, thats not a good thing. But you can still get the softmod back onto your hard drive if you have AID 2.11 on a disc, you can install the original dash from that disc, so that you can start your soft mod over again if you wish. There are also more options on that disc as well though.

Well I tried it again today, some reason it worked now, i dunno maybe my old crusty version 1.0 xbox needed a rest before it could do anything else

I am having the same problem. I didn't read enough before trying to mod my box and after I had backed up my C and installed Evox I deleted the 007 AUF gamesave, thinking I did not need it anymore. I also am not able to get acess to my xbox from FTP. I am download AID 2.11 right now. Is this my only option to try and get the SID menu back?
