Hello modding communty. this is my first post and definetly not my last considering my situation:
- About 3 days ago my friend said that he had modded his xbox and i saw some of the things people were doing especially on halo 2, driving pelicans/phatoms and i drooled over my keyboard.
- i then proceeded to get the modding stuff which for me was AR, and 007: agent under fire and i thought wow thats not too hard...so i got on the phone and called my friend and asked him how to do it.(load gamesave from AUF) and wahlah theres the blue dashboard so i make backups of all the stuff(msdash) and installed evox dash. great holy crap this rocks!!! i be flying pelicans all day long now w00t...
but i have to remember this is coopdogg so of course i come home the next day and i turn on my xbox to start modding and theres the EVO X dash( the one with the xbox-hq skin) ok... great now how to get on "that blue scrren" i was on before
- i get annoyed and start trying to get to the blue screen and i cant. i even go back into Agent under fire and try to get theblue scrren( ithink its calle UNLEASHX) and it just dsends me back to the evox dash. ok this is starting to get annoying so i call up my friend and apparently he had already screwed over one xbox as "his guinea pg" as he called it.
Sooo Basically i have 2 problems:
1. i cant mod my halo 2 maps because evo x doesnt have a file manager
2. I CANT GET ON XBOX LIVE BECAUSE THE IDIOT TOLD ME TO TRY AND SIGN ON TO XBL AND NOW IT WONT DO ANYHTING WHEN I TRY TO SIGN ON TO HALO2 ON XBL befor it just gave me an option to go to the troubleshooter now it doesnt give me anything when itry and sign on it just goes back to "press start to continue.
ok well im not ready to give on ol bessie yet but this is definetly the last time i will mod any console. thanks alot. i really hope i didnt get banned. i think i did. oh well i will be on xbox-hq for the next 12 hours lookin for answerslol.

Couple of basics for you:
Most of the softmods work the same. You didn't mention what softmod you used, so I will give generics.
That 'Blue Screen' that you are looking for. Trying turning off your xbox, then pressing the eject button to power up instead of the power button.
Most xbox mods block or disable xbox live. If you used DVD2XBOX to copy the game to your hard drive, it was most likely patched to block xbox live, so chances are, you are not banned. If you are using a softmod, then your dash was most likely altered to prevent you from logging into Live and becoming banned. If you want to use xbox live, you would have to revert back to your retail dash and use an original game disk. I'm pretty sure that there is currently no way to participate in live with a backup.(I do not use xbox live, so that could be a little outdated. Someone else may know more about it than I do and have better advice for it.)
A good file manager for xbox is called boXplorer and can be found in the usual places.
If, indeed, you find that you are banned, there are remedies. You're ip is not banned, and most assuredly MS did not ban your credit card! It's the actual eeprom inside of your xbox that they would have banned, which is easy enouph to change. But, like I said, chances are that you do not have to worry about that.

Ok thanks but what i guess im gonna do now is revert back to my x box retail dashboard and hopefully revert it back to its retail in-the-box state if theres any info anyone can give me in detail on how to do that any help would be great.i just called mirosoft customer support and asked them if they can revert it and they basically told me to go away and never call again. I HONESTLY WILL NEVER MOD ANY CONSOLE AGAIN. thanks alot neves for your help. I MEAN THANKS ALOT... but the turning on with the disc drive opener doesnt work-just straight to the EvoX dash.
Im gettin frustrated.....
i guess a 13 yearold should wait up till when he actully has enough money to either buy a new console or have somebody to do it for me
THANK YOU EVERYONE SO MUCH i guess i stick to modding pc games rather than Xboxes...

Basically you just need to get the SoftmoD Menu back up and then you should be able to choose 'RESTORE FROM BACKUP'... Once you do that your xbox will be in its original state again.
What softmod installer did you use??

well ithink i used Aid, On Agent under fire w/ action replay..
i think its aid...
my friend just brought it to school and said hed call me and tell me how todo it. he did and now i cant get back to waht i think is AID. thats what i need to know is how to get back into "aid" and return it back to its original state. Ebery time i try and i try and boot off the action replay and get back to that blue screen that i think is aid it brings me to my EVO X dash
and thats not where i wanna be.
On my HDD there id programs called PPF-Xbox and Unleash X xbox launcher. i was wondering if i could selet those and would the MSDASH boot up like a retail box without mods. My objective now is to get the softmod offa my box and play halo2 the way it was originally meant to be played. I also wanna paly BF2 MODERNCOMBAT pretty bad....

try copying the save onto the Xbox instead of trying to use it off the Action replay
