Posted: Tue Sep 06, 2005 6:17 am Post subject: My Own SID 2.0 Guide to a no tray menu xbox with ms dash
ok ill start from after you get the SID save on ur xbox and from when you load the save. First make sure ur xbox is updated pop in a newer game like halo 2 or need for speed underground 2 and hit xbox live itl update if it not already now. Ok once u get the save on ur xbox boot up your game and load the save called linux (if your using mechassault if it goes black and does nothing turn it off and back on then goto the linux save but dont load it ok now click down then back up to the linux save now load it and it should load the menu ok now when the menu pops up click on Create MS backup hit yes <this backs up ur xbox so if u mess up ur fine> ok now goto install softmod click yes if it asks now once thats done go down and pick a dashboard and where to put it i use C drive. ok once thats done <make sure u let it finish> itl take u back to the SID menu now turn ur xbox off with the tray shut does evox boot? ok now goto setting and click Backup this backups some important stuff u may need later ok now congrats now ur xbox is softmodded now on for putting you Microsft dashboard back on so u can mess with saves and add music and stuff again ok turn the xbox off open the tray and let it hang open now the Sid menu will boot no goto Patch MS dash hit yes let it do its stuff now once done turn ur xbox off again shut the tray let evox boot <or unleash x> now scroll down to Microsoft dashboard and wala theres ur orginal dashboard ur xbox is fully softmodded. CONGRATS! now if you dont want the SID tray menu and the bad option in xbox setting that a kid could mess with read on Ok now look up how to ftp to ur xbox once you have figured that out and can access ur xbox come back to this guide and read on...... ok first we will take the Evox bad option off like unlock hdd and flash bios and such <which is bad> ok once u got ftp (your best to use Flash FXP for this) working goto which ever you installed ur evox dash and find evox.ini and right click on it and hit edit now go down till you see the stuff that says Flash Bio and unlock hdd <this will be text> and put a # mark in front of the text lines like this # Flash Bios and options u dont want i suggest all ecept settings and backup the rest is useless <if u need it later just go back in and delete the # marks> ok now for getting rid of the tray open menu <if you dont want it> ftp to ur xbox again goto the c drive and find folder called SID open it and right click and edit the file boot.cfg and delete the line called AltRomfile open.bin and the save it and hit yes again and then exit ur program then turn ur xbox off grats! now ur xbox is mainly childproof <to boot the SID menu just load the game hack save againa nd itl show up> sorry for the bad spelling and such but hope it helps someone out exspecially if you have kids.

good execept don`t delete open.bin, it`s best to keep that waiting in the wings.
simply rename this to "open.bind" or somthing so it is just sat there.
then when you want to make use of your ms backup or what not, you only have to rename 2 files again.

patch ms basicly installs the orginal Dashboard that you can access via the evox menu <its the menu where u find saves and add music to ur xbox the exact same dash that was on ur xbox before it was modded>
