i have a crystal x-box v1.6 with an x-chip mod.
it has evo x in a pink triangle when turned on and it plays all backups is this a evo xbios?
also i want a new dashboard so it would be very helpful if somebody could explain where, when, how and what dasboard will be compatable with my xbox

Yes, what you are seeing is the logo for the EvoX M8 Bios.
What you need to do now is install Evolution X Dashboard on your xbox HD. There are ways to do it manually, but I highly suggest you download the newest autoinstaller that they are offering on this site.
You can download it via bit torrent. Or, you can try to locate an older installer like Slayers 2.5 or their updated installer Slayers 2.6, but in my honest opinion the Xbox-HQ Autoinstaller 1.3 is better than those two, and the new Xbox HQ Autoinstaller Deluxe is very very very cool.
An autoinstaller will do just what the name says. It will automatically install dashboards, applications, format HD, lock or unlock HD, and in the AI Deluxe's case will even install emulators and multiple dashboards!
Figure out which way you want to go and then let us know if you have any additional questions.

thanx for the info modgod but when i go to download autoinstaller it asks me for a download passcode. where do i get this passcode from?
p.s i am a member but not a vip meber does this matter?

You do need to be a VIP to download certain files.
However, at this time when I look under your username it does say you're a VIP.
You must've just joined I take it?

hello again modgod sorry to bother you again but i downladed dummcd extracted the files from the rar file and ran load iso and nothing happens. i would be grateful if you could give me step by step instructions on how to do because it seems easy and its beginning to piss me off mate. dont forget im a novice to this so let me know where im going wrone mate

There was an issue with the new installer where a video intro was causing the installer not to boot.
What I would do is go to the AI discussion thread where DJB has posted the fix. The same thing happened to me and when I did what he said to do it worked the first time around.

Dont forget you can download Auto Installer DEluxe for free by using a bit torrent application on your pc..
