Im not an expert but i had the same problem when i installed --- GR@ summit strike --- so it might be the latest game u downld in 2 the hhd.
make a back up and delete it then try running the box.

Here's something no one's mentioned yet...
What DVD drive do you have? Your DVD drive itself could be the culprit. _________________ XBOX V 1.0 (softmod)

wanna hear something funny.......
doom 3 freezes on some xboxes when softmodded, and it's running from hdd, and yes all cache drives and dir found on E are clean and empty, so it's not about cleaning cache.......mb it's softmod issue
runs fine with my chipped xbox.
btw i can't get doom 3 to work from a dvd-r or a dvd+r, anyone know why, i've tried many different media check patches, this and that, and it still boots to dashboard, and i've wasted about 4 discs already......runs fine from hdd though.
