I have a Matrix however it is currently in an Xbox that is very very broken and this is mainly down to the Matrix. I had a matrix installed for a long time in my 1.0 box and was happy with it. The only problems I had was that occasionaly it would go out of alignment as the pogo pins are not that great and I would have to go into xbox and re-align again and again. This wasn't too bad a problem but one day I wanted to to go on Xbox Live. I hadn't been on for ages cos it was pants back then but wanted to now. However when I loaded with it switched off (which also was another problem as you had to open you box to switch it off) I would get erros indicative of a BIOS error. To my disgust after much research I found that the matrix can flash your xbox's BIOS my mistake making it now impossible to get on Xbox Live. Unfortunately I tried to fix by flashing TSOP with original BIOS but it didn't work and I ended up sticking my soldering iron through it's power cables. I now have a 1.2 LE with a X2, and I say matrix is bad stay away and get an X2. P.S i'd say Chamelon is better because it can work on it's own and gives you multiple banks rather that just one. ive had metrix for a long time and i hadnt have problem with it at all
actually it is easier to go on xbox live with matrix then any other mode chip
u put the matrix on mode three then u eject while playing game and the mod chip turns off and load the xbox bios then i go to xbox live and MS has no clue i have a modechip and i can flash really easily with no proble from HDD
so yea i would ssay go the matrix man but i dont think its going to work woth xbox version 1.3 that is why it discontinued

Yeah well my Matrix worked for a long time before it fucked up and although compared to total people with matrix the amount that flashed BIOS is small it is a consideration. The misalignment problem is usually okay as long as you don't more your xbox around a lot and I had to. Eventually after re-screwing I had to bolt mine down. The matrix mias-aligning is a common problem and has been well talked about. I have a lot of experience with modding and helping people and It would be definitely better to have an X2. Plus the latest versions of X2 have switches on the front for bios selection that you can just flick off to turn mod off whereas the matrix althought easy to turn off you have to open your xbox evertime unless you solder on and external switch. Still it up to you, good luck.

i just bought an x-chip from easybuy2000.com .....i was just wondering whether i'll have the ability to go online....i'm completely new at this but just want to know if it's worth installing this chip b/c i just wanted to play games that i can play online with my friends who are looking to also mod their x-boxes....thanks for any help!!!
